Story: Drinks, hunchback of Norte Dame, the sketchy boy your sketchy roomie brought over. Nuff said
OH MY GOD.I’m going to expand this story even though y’all can understand a tiny bit better. SO.
I go on a lunch date with this boy I started talking to. I’m naive at this point when it comes to dating and I didn’t see the warning signs that I was told so much about.1. This guy found me from Facebook and the fact that I liked the LGBTQ+ page from my college.2. He got very upset if I didn’t call or text him all the time. Like we got into an argument once because I took a very long shower and didn’t respond to his text five mins after he sent it.3. He seemed very manipulative in every aspect. But I’m lonely so I decided, hey why not give him a shot and at least go to lunch with him.
Side note: DON’T DO THAT EVER WITH ANYONE WHO MAKES YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE.
I pick our campus Chick-fil-a because it’s crowded and because it’s simple and I don’t have much time. And it was a horrible experience.
First, his entire bravado was gone. He was suddenly extremely shy, even though our texts and calls told me he has a presence in the room. And then he can’t hold a conversation to save his life. I struggle for what feels like eternity to even talk to this guy and start a conversation and I can’t. And I’m starting to feel like this isn’t the best situation to be. Everything he’s done has come crashing into my brain and add into the fact that in person he’s more creepy that just a shy guy made me hit the eject button on this situation. So I text Willie (aka the person who asked this) and we set up an escape plan.
Always have a person for an escape plan, just in case.
Fast forward, Willie and I are at my place, drinking and getting drunk with each other for what I think was the first time (we were internet friends for a while then ended up at the same college that year, boom friendships all around.) Point being, we were having a blast, and decided in our drunken state to watch Hunchback of Notre Dame. Well, maybe 30 minutes into the movie my former friend and roommate walks in the door followed by.Oh.Oh no.It’s the guy from the lunch date.
I had cut things off with this guy a week ago and then blocked him on everything. And in he walked with my terrible roommate, WHO BY THE WAY KNEW THE STORY, and he was staying the night. So much drunk butt becomes very scared and concerned, because I am drunk and vulnerable in my apartment. Not how Willie and I wanted to spend our evening. We continue to watch the movie, but I think we toned down the drinking because of the new situation. Thankfully nothing happened. Years later I would see him all over campus and on grindr constantly. If people deleted him, he would make a new profile and then ask why you blocked him. I even made a video about it on my youtube channel and I had gay men message me from the ECU area know exactly who I was talking about, even though I never gave a name or even described what he looked like.
