Are you really safe? || Nausicaa and Haven

The training centre was in full swing; with tributes scrambling to learn a new skill or refresh an old one. The thought of the arena was messing with their heads and I was sure a few were already feeling a twinge of nervousness about impressing us tomorrow. But there was one tribute I was a little worried about, I had heard she had finally taken herself to the infirmary to have the wounds inflicted on her by Xanthus tended to. He had every right to do what he did, after all, she struck first. However, I was worried that now she was not going to put on a big enough show for our audience.

I sat in my office, looking over her file as I waited for the Peacekeeper to retrieve her and bring her in. It was high time I had a conversation with the girl I had my eye on from the Reaping.

District 6

GM Ariadne: Here enters the District 6 tributes. Is that some kind of mechanical costumes? It looks like their wings are moving.

GM Xanthus: Indeed. What kind of genius idea is this? I’m impressed. District 6 is usually such a struggle.

GM Nausicaa: Haven seems to be enjoying the walkabout, not very much covered if I might add.

GM Ariadne: Well she seems comfortable enough compared to her district partner, Chirre. Aren’t they the ones we are suspecting to be a couple? Those secret signs during reaping were absolutely heartbreaking.

GM Xanthus: Look at Haven! What is she doing? Is that steam pumping out of Chirre’s wings? Chirre is impressed by what’s happening with his costume.

GM Nausicaa: Forget the steam, she just bent over and kissed the boy!

GM Ariadne: It seems that Nausicaa has found exactly what she was looking for. A couple of lovebirds.

GM Xanthus: Here she goes again flicking her wings on. Steamy!

GM Ariadne: The crowd is applauding. They do know how to attract attention. We’ll see how much work they will be in training.

Haven Finch || District 6 || Age: 18 || FC: Alice Englert

Weapon: Xacto Knife

Bio: Haven was born before the rebellion along with her brother Harlen (20). Her father Axel (43) had been in charge of the vehicles used in the rebellion. Haven’s mother Moira (40) was the care taker during the rebellion. It weighed on her a lot. The weight of the rebellion and the creation of The Hunger Games became too much for Moira. She refused to live in a world where children were killed for sport. So when Haven was 5 her mother hung herself. Axel told Haven it was one of her moms ex boyfriends who had a grudge against Moira for leaving him. She believed it at the time. Harlen knew the truth.

At the age of 13, Haven became interested in drafting and models. Axel started giving her little assignments. Like new vehicle designs. Making modifications on existing vehicles. She enjoyed it. Her room filled with models,sculptures, and drafts of new things. When she turned 15 she was employed as a drafter. The day she got employed, she went to see her brother at work. He was operating a steam roller at the time. Haven called out his name and he got distracted. Harlen did not notice another employee/his best friend Daniel (21) blowing a whistle and telling him to stop. Daniel got crushed by the steamroller.

That changed their lives forever. Haven was close to Daniel as well. Seeing him get murdered was traumatizing. Her brother got hit the hardest. He quit his job and got in contact with a morphling supplier. The incident made Axel distance himself from Harlen. The death of Moira had already created a gap in Haven’s relationship with her father. She was a splitting image of her mother so that’s where it went wrong.

At 18 Haven is the caretaker of her morphling brother. Her father is just…there.
