Haven Headcanon
Frank, Sherry and Dwight all band together and try to get everyones birthdate down on a calendar so they can celebrate birthdays when they can. The trio goes around and ask for birthday and mark it on a calendar. Everyone's birthdate is pretty easy to get, except Troy's.
The Otto doesn't want people to know his birthday. Lyn, and Russell already know and that's too many people as is. So Troy either doesn't answer when his birthday is, or gives them made up dates as answers. Russell won't budge on the secret, loyal to a fault even about small things.
Eventually to get the trio (mainly Dwight) off Troy's back, Lyn tells them when Troy's actual birthday is. Although so Troy doesn't have to suffer the ordeal of an actual birthday party, Lyn intervenes. Usually the night before Troy's birthday, she packs up a truck gets Tracy and a probably confused Troy into the truck and heads off. She left info and instructions with Russell on where they would be before driving her small family to a cabin in the woods she had found on a run awhile, untrusting Russell to help her fix it up a bit it was now able to live in and worked as a suitable get away for the trio.
There Lyn ensures Troy can enjoy his birthday in peace, doing whatever he likes, even pretending it wasn't his birthday. But Lyn still makes his favorite dinner, or some version of it, and she and Tracy present Troy with a present for his birthday during dinner.
