7. "Oh Darling, buy a brain." for Haven and Duke?
I have NO IDEA how long this has been in my inbox and I am SO SO SO SO SORRY if it's been forever!
Audrey glanced at her phone as it buzzed to life, the screen flashing with Duke’s name. Her curiosity piqued; the latest Trouble had been resolved, so what could be so urgent? The recent Trouble was a peculiar one—almost every word spoken came out as its opposite, unbeknownst to the speaker. It had caused quite the commotion, sparking countless arguments until it was finally put to rest.
Before Audrey could even say hello, Duke’s frantic voice erupted from the other end. "Audrey! You've got to help me! You need to tell Haven EXACTLY when the Trouble ended."
Audrey could easily guess where this was heading, but decided to tease him a bit first. "And why do I need to do this?"
"Because I said something to Haven, and she’s convinced it was after you solved the Trouble, but it was really before! I was trying to tell her that her idea was brilliant, but apparently, that’s not what came out..."
Audrey struggled to suppress her laughter. "Okay, and what exactly did you say?"
Haven’s exasperated voice cut in, clearly on speaker. "He said, 'Oh, darling, buy a brain,' Audrey! He told me to buy myself a brain! He’s the one who’s going to need a new brain by the time I’m done with him!"
Audrey’s laughter bubbled over, utterly useless in the face of their predicament. Suffice to say, due to her now uncontrollable laughter, she was no help at all.

Okay, so, in my original Haven's Haven, Haven Parker was an addict and that played a big part of the story. In Haven's Haven rewrite, I got rid of that part because I was concerned I wasn't doing it justice.
I haven't worked on Haven's Haven Rewrite for a long time and haven't outlined further because it feels like something is missing and I think it's because I made that big change in Haven's character.
Should I add Haven's addiction back in?
