If Mothpaw’s learned anything, it’s that everything she ever loved or cared about was fleeting. Even her own life was transient— as much as it pained her to think of her own mortality, there will come a day when she’ll find herself under the claws of an enemy warrior, or swept away by something as mundane as old age. It wasn’t pleasant, but that was life. Each cat lived simply to experience, and feel, and love.
Mothpaw reassured herself that she had countless moons ahead of her, but unfortunately, the universe had a habit of deceiving those hopeful for a fulfilled and peaceful existence.
