Evan felt self-conscious speaking about his religious beliefs every now and then, because he knew the kinds of minds and ideologies fuelled by a sense of righteousness. He’d seen it all his life in South Carolina, in the preacher’s sermon in churches he and his father would quietly leave out the back of. Now, however, Evan was forced to realize the world was much larger and much more complicated than he could have ever learned back home. Hawkins might be a small town but it was certainly mighty with the secrets it yielded.

Besides, Evan liked to romanticize the idea of fate being decided and the starts twinkling them down on him, like a wink, a secret only he could figure out.

“you ever think about leaving this place?” she did, she still does, but something keeps telling her to stay. sera wasn’t sure if it was some internal instinct to help protect the kids or something else entirely. if given a choice, she wouldn’t dare go back to the upside down, but if it meant ending all of this? then she would dare, probably punch a demogorgon too.
