Would you like to engage in a conversation about the top ten differences between fates cu and mythology cu. If the fact they made him straight isn’t number one I riot.
riot then because they didn't make him straight.
i'm sure you can nitpick a lot of small differences between them but I don't really care about that because character wise, themes wise, they're very much the same. does it really matter whether his hair is blue or gold red and black when either way he is ulster's greatest hero? even more subtle stuff like how myth cu constantly has to prove himself as such makes it into fate cu. imo the only substantial difference is that in the myths he's twice as feral and thrice as stressed and that's because in the myths he's living through it while, perhaps knowing the end already thanks to cathbad's prophecy, but not knowing how the story up to there will be filled out. he's a little more insecure too because he's a stressed out teenager. fate cu is an adult with the power of hindsight and the knowledge that he doesn't regret any of it so he's calmer and more self assured. that's all.
Where should one acquire non tain ulster cycle translations
the Corpus of Electronic Texts (CELT) is a good place to start
also jeffrey gantz' Early Irish Myths and Sagas (but ignore his intros, they're misleading and outdated scholarship)
koch and carey's Celtic Heroic Age has a lot of texts, inc. ulster cycle
also see this post with recs which has a few ulster cycle texts on there (among other things), with links
Your art is so pretty!
Dawwww! Thank you! You guys are too sweet!
Draw a caddimoose. You know you want to.

I wonder how many non-Televoid fans come across this blog and are just like, ¨what¨
(if it weren’t for the fact that i’m p sure most of this blog’s traffic comes from the televoid tag then i’d wager that A Lot™
You are an interesting combo of fates enjoyer and enjoying the base mythology. Im fascinated
yes im a fate fan yes i read mythology i cannot be said to exist however I will occur whenever the conditions are met
Re: your tags on that post about evil robots and eyes turning red: within the movie, the AI only goes rogue because of the lack of inhibitor chip. It’s technically completely reasonable to think that red lights would be installed as a warning of something malfunctioning in the inhibitor chip.
Yeah, I know! It makes a lot of sense! That's why I headcanon it like that! X3
But I just think it'd be funny of Otto or Rosie being like "you know what would be funny...?"
