"Hey" he said quietly, shifting closer until he's seated beside you.
He hasn't talked much lately, eyes always staring empty to either his phone or walls. You're worried, of course. Because you know the impact of the war has brought to him, even when he said he's fine.
He's always fine, he was built for that. Or at least that's what he thought
You didn't push when he made himself relax beside you, it's rare for him anyways to actually feel safe like this. So, you just stayed with him, at the couch on weekend.
You two stay like that for five minutes straight, no words exchanged, just comforting silence. That's until he spoke again.
"I never like the name Takami because it reminds me of what happened to the memories i don't want to remember" There, the rare moment where he opened up to you.
He took your hand; thumb brushed against the gold wedding ring on your finger, the one where he vowed to give his life for you for the rest of his life.
"But ever since you bear that name, and carry it around without shame for marrying this useless guy? I never been this proud to be called Takami Keigo for my whole life" He squeezed your hand before intertwined your fingers together. His palm felt warm against yours, calloused from hard training he received and his own battle.
Then he brought your hand to his lips, pressing the back of your palm with a soft peck.
This is how i think dating keigo would look like! (All of these are my opinions so of course it's not valid but most of these are gonna relate to my other writings)
Before Paranormal Liberation War:
Let's pretend you have dated for maybe six months or over
You and Keigo made a deal to not let this relationship being known in public for your own good, that's why you don't date in crowded place.
I wouldn't expect Keigo would make it on your every date. There were times where he'd cancel your date just an hour before because of an attack going on. You're dating a pro-hero, what do you expect?
Pretty sure in this timeline he'd lie about his name as well saying he was born with the name Hawks—and you believed him.
He'd ghost you sometimes leaving your chat on read or even maybe on delivered, who knows? (maybe he was scared his work doing would bring danger in your life)
When Keigo came back from two weeks of absent pretending like nothing happened—like he didn't just ignore you, made you two get into a heated argument but ends it with both of you making out. And at the end of the day, he still didn't tell you why he's gone. (there's no way he's gonna be honest about him being a spy for LOV)
Feel close and yet too far. He lets you do all the talking when you guys were having a deep talk. He loves your babbling, about your day, your work, your dog, your neighbor and never made it about him.
He loves you. He respects you. Won't cheat on you. Won't hurt you. He's just bad at showing it :(
I wouldn't say he's a red flag. Keigo's just unexperienced because he spent his life with training and mission without the HPSC giving him a chance to get his emotions getting in the way of his hero life. Just give him time. He's trying😭
After Paranormal Liberation War:
He told you everything. His name, his past, his fear, his weakness, his insecurity. He's ready for your judgement and almost shed a tear when you still look at him like he's matter.
This would be the first time he ever brought you to his place, no, not the one the HPSC prepared for him but the one he bought himself that you're surprised to see how minimalist the interior was for the number two hero. But it feels more like Keigo.
Keigo sometimes asked your help to apply an ointment oil for his burnt scar and please feel honored because those were moments where he showed his vulnerable side.
Doesn't care if someone finally found out about you. To make it even better, Keigo will soft launch you or just actually posted your picture on his official account.
Post Final War - Time Skip:
If someone asked him, how did he cope with his life after he lost his quirk, he will actually say it loud and proud that you taught him how to live.
Keigo always yearns for you. It's because either he saw you as the only anchor for him to keep going with his life or/and he's free from his quirk and the system that tied him up.
When you guys are hanging out in his or your place, expect him to suddenly falls asleep beside you or maybe on top of you when you're both cuddling because he felt safe with you :). And actually has the best sleep in his life if you're around.
Your happiness equals his happiness. So he most definitely spoils you to the point that makes you wonder the purpose of your own wage.
You can cook? your food will bring him to heaven.
You can't cook? no worries he has the money to buy takeouts for the two of you and still feel in heaven every time you eat with him.
If he's taking a day off and you're working, expect him to spam your chat or even call just because he doesn't know the different between clothes fragrance and liquid detergent.
Note: Hi!!! So yeah, that's just how i imagine dating him to be :). I know there are plenty of grammar mistakes because i wrote this at 2 am but i hope you get what i'm trying to say asdfghjkl. Also i passed my thesis presentation with a grade A, yeaayyy. I wasn't expecting the high grade but im really proud of myself im crying so much. Anyways i love you guys
