"Do you love him? This isn't just some starry eyed phase?"

"Of course I do." I answered. "Grayson means everything to me. I spent a long time wanting what my parents had. I struck out a lot. Going into the show I didn't have high hopes, but the moment I met Grayson I just had this feeling. Like he needed me and I needed him.

As cheesy as it may sound he completes me. I want nothing more than to build a life with him."

"Excellent answer. But know this if you hurt him I will turn you into a toad."

"I promise you Hazel I would never."

"I know. He never stops talking about you. I've never seen him so happy. I had to make sure he wasn't just looking at you threw rose colored glasses. He deserves to be happy. After everything he has been through."

"He's lucky to have you."

"I'm the lucky one. I'm still here because of Grayson." Hazel answered

"What do you mean?"

"Hello Clive."

"AH!"

Chuckles. "Did I startle you?"

"Hazel?"

"The one and only." Hazel answered with a smile.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was invited."

"Yeah, but I thought you told Grayson you couldn't come? That you had major coven issues you couldn't get away from."

"I wasn't going to miss my best friends wedding. I have things taken care of just long enough for the I dos. Then I gotta head back."

"Grayson will be so glad you're here. Does he know?"

"Nope. I want to surprise him." Hazel answered. "But first I felt it was time you and I finally met face to face. I want to talk to you."

"Did Grayson ever tell you how we met?"

"No. He doesn't like to bring up his past and I don't like to push it."

"You really are a good guy Clive."

"Thank you Hazel."

"We met when he saved my life. It was about three months after his father banished him. It was my seventeenth birthday and I wanted to spend it in the woods collecting potion ingredients. My parents however had forbidden it since hunter activity in the area was on the rise. I however at that age felt I was invincible. So I sneaked out when my parents were distracted with coven matters. I'm a vampire and a witch so I thought I was untouchable especially by humans.

I was very wrong. On my way home I was blindsided and immobilized. By a combination of witch hazel, werewolf blood smoke bomb. I was beyond terrified. Grayson has been passing through and heard the commotion. Even tough he didn't know me, he was outnumbered four to one and it put his own life at risk he jumped in to help me.

He managed to injure and drive them off then he carried me back home. My parents were so mad at me, but relived I was ok. After that Grayson and I became the best of friends.

We vowed to always have each others backs. He lived with us until my father decided we needed to move the coven to safer lands. We invited Grayson to come with us, but he didn't want to move half way around the world in case his family ever came around."

"Wow. You've both been through it."

"It's always amazed me. Most people who have been through even half of what Grayson has would have become cold, bitter or closed off. But not Grayson. You really are marring an amazing man with a good heart Clive. Take care of him."

"Believe me I will."

Looking out at the venue as I waited for Clive to come I was met by the best surprise. Hazel had come. I smiled at her as I held back the tears. I know how busy she is. Leading a coven of vampires and witches who each have unique needs and wants is never easy. So the fact that she made time to be here for my wedding meant a lot to me.
