@hazel2468 I wanted to respond to this but op blocked me (????) so I can’t interact with that post at all anymore. But I just wanted to say that, yeah, I just got out of my principles of counseling class, which is mostly education majors, social work majors, and psych majors (like me ☺️). And the teacher was like “we’re all gonna go around the room and everyone is gonna list two cultures they’re a part of.” And about a third of the class said they were a part of the queer community. I’m so hype to go to grad school as a queer person and meet other queer folks in my field.

Meanwhile those same ppl seem to have no trouble referring to literally everyone as “that gay community” despite the vast majority of us actually not being gay (most of the community is mspec, so bi, pan,ply,omni, or similar)

...I gotta admit, I’m tempted to start replying to every asshole on That Queer Post with “Oh, I’m so sorry! I meant the bi+ community. :)))))”

Pretty much, yeah. HBS stands for “Harry Benjamin Syndrome,” which is what HBSers tried to rename transness to. The name comes from Dr. Harry Benjamin, who formalized transition care and defined “transsexualism” in an extremely cisheterosexist way that included the foundations of literally every gatekeeping argument since then - HBSers want to stick to Dr. Benjamin’s definition and hyperpathologize transness.

Literally every single transmed argument is an HBS argument with a new coat of paint slapped on it. Literally every single HBS argument (except “they’ll cut off our care because of all these fakers!) traces back to “What an aged cishet man thought about gender roles in the mid-1950s.” It’s a mess.

Pretty much all manosphere movements are... well, it’s called the manosphere for a reason. Some of the more “moderate” ones may have a few token women so they can pretend it’s not just misogyny all the way down, but the incels have no such pretenses.

...all of the above....Seriously, by definition I wrote my very first “fanfic” when I was...

I was nine, had just finished the first HP book, the teacher said I had to write a story for an assignment. I wrote a piece about Draco pushing Harry from off the Astronomy Tower and the Nimbus catching him. I wish I had kept it, but I used always throw away all my school stuff at the end of the year to have space for next year’s stuff. I had no idea of what a fanfic was back then XD
