Hazewood
This plant bears a striking resemblance to bruiseweed. However, it does have notable differences, The most striking of these differences is the frustrating self-destruct mechanism it possesses; if so much as a single leaf is improperly removed, the entire plant to wilts in minutes. Unfortunately these uses are all secrets that outsiders will never know. Its one leaked use is in a vision elixir, where the leaves serve to blur out the real world. This allows people to see into the beyond as well as communicate with one another on a spiritual channel.
This ability has given hazewood a reputation for obfuscation, making it a useful indication that you’ve left a coded message for the recipient. A sprig of hazewood is favored among spies and reconnaissance soldiers for this reason. It can also be sent as a warning that obfuscation might be necessary in the future, due to prying eyes compromising the correspondence.
