Today is Baisakhi. BBT wishes you all happy Baisakhi. It is a historical and religious festival in Sikhism usually celebrated on 13 or 14 April every year. The story of the Baisakhi Festival began with the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru who was publicly beheaded by the Aurungzeb, the Mughal ruler. In 1699 the tenth guru, Guru Gobind Singh, chose Vaisakhi as the occasion to transform the Sikhs into a family of soldier saints, known as the Khalsa Panth. In the pictures, you can see the “Hazur Sahib” one of the five takhts in the Sikhism. It is one of the most important places for Sikh pilgrims because this structure is built at the place where Guru Gobind Singh Ji left his earthly life. I and my colleague @csiddha Chinmay Siddha visited this historic place in October 2017 during our field visit to Nanded. There are some perks of working on the ground. You can meet people, visit places and have local things. Told by @banjaro_balak . . . . . Follow @banjaro_balak_tales for travel through tales of people, places and things. . . .
