I haven’t told my parents I’m dating a guy, but it just hasn’t come up in conversation. One of my parents isn’t doing so well health-wise, and I’m constantly worried about them. I’m always afraid that Bai will find someone better for him, and I’m not sure I would want to let him go.

Bai Hu. Yien. ....Mark? He called himself Mark for the trio I babysat, so-- yeah, so they're all the same person. Don't judge me.

Bai Hu. My friend from the day care is kind of cute in that whole he’s straight and this is totally platonic way. This guy in my hall that I see from time to time but don’t know the name of is pretty cute, too.

They know basically everything except that I’m dating Bai. And that’s kind of because I never found the right moment to tell them. I don't really not want them to know, though. I'm not afraid of them knowing anything. They've always respected my choices.

“What are you doing?”

Jackson glances away from his textbook, eyes finding his boyfriend with ease. Yien just grins from where he’s sprawled, fingers stilling on Jackson’s leg and head shifting so that he can appraise the other. “What’s this?”

There’s a childish hint to Yien’s voice, and Jackson’s lips compress into a line as he tries to feign frustration. It’s not going to work every well, or even very long. He may be a little irritated that Yien has chosen now of all times to be curious — now, when Jackson has an essay due in a couple days, now when he’s tired and running on little more than fumes. But it’s also Yien, and Jackson can’t be mad for very long.

“Cat scratch,” Jackson says after a moment of quiet appraisal, playing the scar little mind. “Got too close to a stray one day. Tried to pick it up, and it fought me until I let go. It’s not a huge deal.”

Yien stiffens briefly, bu then he relaxes. If he were any less human, Jackson is almost sure that his ears would be pinned back and his tail would have that signature unhappy twitch to it. “I’m going to have to kill that cat,” Yien says to himself, tone amused and lilting. “Felines are terribly territorial, you know.”

Jackson hums a quiet acknowledgement, free hand drifting to drag through Yien’s hair. He doesn’t bother trying to explain that the cat’s probably dead, that LA streets are dangerous for strays. After all, Yien is joking. Right?

Love - Jackson

Put a word in my ask and I will write a Headcanon about it for my Muse.

Love is such an unbelievably weird subject in Jackson’s books.

All of Jackson’s life, he’s lived with the belief that love is something that happens accidentally. You don’t go looking for it bcause you won’t find it. Whenever love is ready, it’s going to find you. So the past three years, Jackson has dated with full awareness that one day in the future, maybe in a year, maybe in ten years, he would somehow, however accidentally, find that one person. But until then, he wouldn’t make any false promises. To anyone.

In the past three years, he’s had about a dozen flings and semi-serious period of dating someone. Never, at any point during that time, did he tell any of those people that he loved them.
