Random Story Facts Tag: History Challenge

1. Medically speaking it’s almost impossible Kida would survive everything I’m putting her through in the time period she’s in. Almost.

2. I did a bunch of research in to prehistoric people to help with the world building for this challenge. From taking notes in musuems to documentaries and a shit ton of Far Cry Primal. The book Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari was high key one of the biggest influences during the planning proccess. Now, will any of this history deep dive be reflected in the actual story? Maybe. But it did help me get into the mindset for it all.

3. The first scene I had for this story was one of the major dark points of the whole thing. Spoiler Alert: It’s just a screenshot of the moon with a single sentence written underneath it.

4. The white stag has religous significance in celtic/christian mythology. It’s appearence in gen1 is meant to plant the seeds fort the religions/superstitions of future generations if I ever get past gen1, that is

5. Kida’s original name was Fera after the word Ferrous (like iron which can be forged in fire which is yet another example of me thinking I’m clever).

She and Roon are technically only half sisters but since monogamy isn’t really a thing in their tribe the whole concept of paternity is foreign to them

In the same vein, she and Tak are technically siblings side but neither of them would ever have any way of actually knowing as it’s through their father

Originally Kida’s name was going to be Fera (which has a meaning I can’t put down yet cause spoilers but I’ll edit in later). I changed it at the last minute because I liked the sound of Kida more

The scratch on her ear is from a time she accidentally ran of a rocky overhang while racing against Roon.

She likes her meat rare which I mean… gross
