Hello fam. How's your weekend going? Today, we continue our conversation on Being Led by God. Kindly click the link in bio for the full sermon. Imagine you have the life of your dreams answered and granted by God to you today, what will you be doing? We all have different things we would really want to be doing, however, the things we want to do will actually depend on the level of our maturity as at then and where we are in our life's journey. The perfect life however, is not just about having a life of our dreams, our dream life should be to live like Jesus did. He has the greatest name ever named by God. He is our ultimate example. His secret sauce is that He was constantly led by God. There's no step that Jesus took while on earth that He did not hear His Father instruct Him. If we are going to walk in the miraculous here on the earth, we had better be hearing God. The real award we will receive in eternity will depend on how yielded we were for God to use use while on earth. John 16.12, Heb. 5. 11, there are so many things God wants to lead us on, but we have become dull of hearing. God will only lead us consistently depending on how open we are to Him. Some things we need to be doing for God to lead us will include, John 8.29. Acts 10.38. John 3.2 When we love God, we keep His command John 14.14. To be led by God, like Jesus, we need to study and meditate daily on God's Word. Josh. 1.8. Then we need to not just study the Word but also take action to do them. Consciously look for opportunities to fulfill God's Word, James 1.22. and prioritize God's Word over all else, Prov. 4.20-21, 3.5-6., Trusting God with all our heart, not leaning on our understanding, then He will guide our path. Finally, let God's peace guide us, Rom. 8.14, Phil. 4.6, Prov. 20.27. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. When God is leading us, we experience inner peace. Avoid doubts and unbelief John 10.27, 8.1-2, Heb 4.14-15, James 5.16, disempower sin by confessing it and giving it up and do not live in fear 1 John 4.18. Swipe left <<<<<<<<<<<<< The Story Behind To God Be the Glory "To God Be the Glory" is a hymn with lyrics by Fanny Crosby and music by William Howard Doane, first printed in 1875.  It appears to have been created around 1872 but was published in 1875 in Robert Lowry and Doane's hymn compilation, "Brightest and Best." In 1954, the song leader for Billy Graham was given a copy with the suggestion that "To God be the Glory" be included in the songbook for the London Crusade. It was so well-loved that he included it again later that year in the Crusade in Nashville, Tennessee. The audience responded enthusiastically and from that time on, he used it frequently. Hello fam. Service was awesome and as always we can't wait to share with those who missed out. Topic: Gifts of the Spirit. Text: 1 Cor 12: To be a witness if Christ requires more than mere words, it require power. Gifts of the Spirit are channels through which the power to witness is executed. Healings, manifestation of word of wisdom and knowledge e.t.c are to draw people's attention to God. Eph 4:11. The gifts are given to the church for the edification and equipping of the saints for the service we are to render. The gifts of the Spirit are not finite, there are as many as the needs that exist and as many as are required to achieve the objective of the gifts. To see the manifestation of God's gifts in your life, you need to be a channel, you need to be involved in His service. In order to be effective in witnessing, God has given us his Holy Spirit. In the capacities we have to serve others, the gifts of the Spirit usually find manifestation. Purpose of Spiritual gifts. 1Cor 12:1 - 31 God wants us to understand the purpose of the gifts. These gifts are handed over to us for the benefit of all. It is not for a particular set of people, it is for everyone. Walking in the Spirit requires interdependence and integration with other members of the body rather than independence. The Holy Spirit has the final say. Our significance and uniqueness should not lead to self- importance. It is about surrendering and making ourselves available to serve. The Spirit led life is founded on love. The operational mode is that of love. Manifestation of gifts is not a guarantee of spiritual commitment. It is possible to be strong in Spirit-led gifts and weak in Spirit-led character. The gifts are nothing without love, gifts are temporary, love is eternal. The gift in operation in your life usually influences the lens through which you view issues. This is meant for you to play your part and not criticize others who don't see like you see. Remember you are part of the body of Christ, a church without walls. How can you serve? #Womenwhoinspirewednesday Reverend Sister Henrietta Alokha, principal of Bethlehem Girls High School in Lagos is such a huge inspiration and a rare gem. She died in the line of duty, while trying to protect the lives of her students during the recent explosion at the Abule Ado Community in Lagos State. She was indeed a selfless leader, we celebrate her sacrifice.
