magic once dunked her head in an icy river and sat on her shoulders until she grew gills. wasting away was a dream, then. she would spend her life as her father did, a mountain made of ymir's kidney stones, but magic was too busy stealing the breath from her lungs and the peeling the skin from her bones to allow her such luxury.

she still has red hair, though. that will never change. sharp cheeks and eyes big as planets.
