When the older woman struck up a conversation with her, Rowan had been a surprised, and just a touch reluctant. Everything was so strange already, settling into Overwatch being one of the few returning Blackwatch members- all in all, she felt out of place. Not that Blackwatch had been the most comfortable position, but it had been a strange kind of home regardless.
Now, thrown in with the heroes, the witch struggled to find her footing, so when Fareeha had approached with questions and coffee, she’d fallen back on the defensive, if honest answer. Taking the coffee, she quirked an eyebrow, green eyes searching the other woman’s expression and eyes for a sign of her intentions. Shrugging, she wrapped both hands around the mug.
“You’re giving me a lot of credit. I uh-” Her pride faintly protested, but Rowan didn’t listen, forging ahead as she glanced away from Fareeha. “I don’t really have anywhere else to go. And- well Blackwatch was my home for a while.” Perhaps it was a kind of redemption, she knew she’d done terrible things, within the organization and outside it. But all in all, she couldn’t regret it- knowing the impact her actions had on the world.
“What about you?” She deflected. “What brought you to Overwatch?” Particularly since it was operating illegally, and the other woman hadn’t been in it back when she had.
