marquita was still in her scrubs from work. she had run a couple errands once her shift was over before she would forget to do them later. after working all night, she was exhausted and just ready to go home so she could get some sleep. she was glancing down to her phone as she was waiting for the elevator. once the doors opened, she almost bumped into another body that was on the other side when she stepped out. “shit, my bad, i -” marquita looked to see a vaguely familiar face. though she couldn’t exactly remember from where she recognized them. she paused for a moment as it hit her. they were one of the kids she used to babysit to make some extra cash during her teen years. “wow, hey! it’s been ages,” she stated with a light laugh that turned slightly nervous near the end. “sorry, i don’t know if you even remember me. and if not, this just got super awkward.”

It had been a long day. Usually it would be straight home because that was where she could at the very least try to relax. Picking up groceries had been a small stop from her real destination but it was something no one in the house would remember or care to remember to do and frankly they always picked up the wrong items anyways. Last time she’d sent Van to grab a chicken for dinner he had bought eggs and told her that they could just hatch them. Her head started to throb at the memory. But a figure at the on the corner of the street caught her eye as she packed in the necessary ( and a few unnecessary ) purchases into her car. Given this wasn’t the part of town you’d like to see younger women on the corner, unless you were a someone looking for trouble she really didn’t know what to do.
“ Don’t even think about it, Reba... “ Her murmurs as she spoke to herself were scoffed with her own criticism, she didn’t know why she felt the need to walk up and see how the girl was but never the less the feeling sat in her stomach for at least a minute as she wasted time slowly finishing putting her bags away. “ Ah gah- dang-it... “ Reba hesitantly walked up to the younger woman, brow furrowed as she noticed her outfit, and as she got closer and noticed the woman’s profile. “ You alright there, sweetheart? “ Reba wasn’t dumb she could give one good guess of why the girl was out there and win some award for getting it right but it wasn’t in her to just drive away when it was going to be at least freezing tonight and she didn’t know how long the girl planned on being out here, or if she had anywhere to go.

aqua started to click away at her phone, responding to the many messages her manager was sending. she was late on her album deadline, one that she clearly stated she needed more time with to make it perfect. it was to be her best work to date. at least it would be if the recording company didn’t harass her day and night for it. “ babe, not now. steve is havign a fucking land field over messages right now. “ aqua didn’t want to push the girl away but she was far too stressed out to be dealing with anything else right now.

There weren’t very many points in her reign where she got to be alone, especially not alone outside of her personal quarters. There was always security or a diplomat she needed to be speaking to, things had been so busy lately with security meetings and different reporters wanting questions she couldn’t yet answer. She was tired. But today was the beginning of a long weekend and as close to a break from her role as she usually got. Though she knew there were probably some undercover security somewhere. It felt like solitude to be able to walk into the city, opting to wear something that was more of her own camouflage so no one would recognize her. Hair tugged up into a bun, sunglasses and a soft blue sundress enough to make her blend in enough. Still she kept her head down, only looking up when she noticed the plaque of a small bookshop and decided to enter. It wasn’t very big and the books on the walls reached far enough to feel like two stories but the queen loved it instantly.
She’s there for a while, sifting through old copies of books she never had the time to read. That was until she felt the eyes of someone on her back; usually she wouldn’t feel so worried about it. After all eyes were almost on her, either her own commoners who noticed who she was or security keeping a tight gaze on her. But right now, as far as Rosie knew she was alone, it makes her freeze up for a second, sliding a tattered book back into it’s place before straightening out her back. Then, the thought comes to mind that it might just be her security. It seems like the likeliest outcome so she sighs, turning on her heel as she speaks. “ Thank you, but I do not need to be followed... I was just- “ Her voice sinks back into her throat when she locks eyes with a stranger, jaw tightening before glancing around to see no familiar guards. After what had happened with her Mother and being sent off she was usually good at keeping herself on guard, but Rosie couldn’t help but feel nervous. “ I- I’m sorry I... thought you were someone else... can I... help you? “ She asks, her best impression a warm smile; hoping they didn’t know who she was.

after a long day, kenzie was more than ready to go home. between class and then dealing with asshole customers at her job she just wanted to relax a little and have a nice weekend as much as she could. except when she walked in the door and not so surprisingly found the laundry pile still not done. most times it wasn’t a big deal but she was already in a mood and the extra frustration didn’t help. “brooke?” she called out, wondering if the woman was even home yet. she exhaled a sigh and didn’t even wait for an answer while she threw a load of clothes into the washer and started it. “thanks for doing the laundry,” she muttered, sarcasm evident in her tone as she went to change out of her work clothes into something more comfortable.

Pressing her index and middle fingers together, Emil holds her hand out to them, snapping the fingers against the thumb, signing a resounding no in front of their face. “No,” Emil signs, her free arm wrapped around the other’s waist as she carries them back to her apartment. Once she fumbles with her keys and brings the both of them inside, she immediately guides them to the couch and fetches them a glass of water. Now that both her arms are free, Emil then starts signing to the other person, gesturing wildly so they can get her point. "We are NOT going to the tattoo place and I am NOT going to tattoo Sonic the Hedgehog on your back. You are too drunk to be making decisions like that right now. Now c’mon, drink the water.” She hands the glass of water to them. “You’ll thank me in the morning.”
