"SO, ARE YOU PLANNING TO be in finance for the rest of your life? Do you even have plans to retire?" // @hcrdknocklife

a look of bewilderment. “of course you were wrong.” how could she have made him think she didn’t want that? “i thought you knew.” only maybe it wasn’t quite as obvious as they’d hoped. “i’m...not exactly an expert on this sort of thing. so i guess i didn’t make it clear. but yes, that’s what i wanted.” now? she wasn’t so sure.

For someone like Wade it was crucial of him to have competent personal assistants that would help him out with anything and everything he needs. He liked to think he wasn’t a difficult person to deal with, he just had a lot on his agenda each day as a CEO of a world wide successful tech company. With him having HQ’s in USA, Europe and Asia, he had a personal assistant for each of them who kept in touch in him no matter where he was. Statistics did show he spent most of his time in the US, where now he had Lily.
He has went through a handful of assistants, most of them left because they couldn’t keep up with his pacing, or simply had families that also required their time, and he never had hard feelings over it. But he was getting tired of constantly hiring someone new. Lily has just passed the crucial mark with him, the point in which a few of his previous assistants have left, so it brought him joy.
The day was coming to an end, and he walked side by side with her as she read everything he has to do tomorrow: meetings, interviews, reminders to call his sister. Glancing at his wrist watch, Wade took a sharp turn to stop right in front of her, a small smile on his lips. “Do you have plans for tonight, Lily? I’ve thought about having dinner at a new Italian restaurant and i’ve wanted to discuss something with you over dinner.”

"OH MY GOD! ARE YOU okay?!" Lee asked, panic clear in her voice. She ran to Tiery and crouched down to check on him. It was just a stupid little bet. Successfully glide through the snow without bumping or swerving, and he'd win. She might have overestimated the skills he learned in less than 24 hours when she issued the challenge. Grabbing her phone from her pocket, she was ready to dial 911. "Are you bleeding?! Are you concussed?! Do you know who I am?!" The blonde was usually level-headed. But at this moment, she was fearing for his life. "I think we should get you to the hospital." This was not how she expected for their winter trip to go.

"i'm not denying anything… i'm telling you that i'm staying anyway. we've all done bad things, but that doesn't change the fact that i'm much safer with you than without." or at least, that's how it's always felt. "besides, what about you? who's going to keep you safe if you've separated yourself from the rest of us?" it's mostly a joke to try and alleviate the mood a little — out of everybody in their circle, dahlia certainly wouldn't be considered the fiercest — but there's at least a small element of truth somewhere. she's never been one to take pleasure out of hurting people, but protecting her loved ones would be an entirely different story. if it really came down to it, she knows she'd do whatever it takes. staying still as he approaches like someone trying not to scare off a skittish wild animal, dahlia merely smiles gently in understanding. “after all the times i’ve cried around you, i'd say it’s only fair that we switch roles every now and then.” it's no secret that they hadn't handled their rather abrupt transition from mortal to undead very well back then and he quite easily could’ve left her to pick up the pieces alone; in fact, most would have, but not vlad. "it's okay if you don't know what you need." reaching out, she brushes her fingers against his hand and allows him the opportunity to choose whether to pull back or hold on. "i'm here until you forcibly kick me out the door yourself."
