Headphones.
So this is a little different than what I usually post, but it's still related to music, so here goes! If you love music, you want to experience the best possible sound right? Here's a few of my favorite headphones that I think have the best sound quality. The Sennheiser CX400II are great in-ear headphones (otherwise known as earphones) and I've had a pair for about a year now and they've served me loyally. Sennheiser is definitely my favorite and most trusted audio brand. The bass is perfectly balanced without being overpowering or artificial. The highs are great and the mids are very solid. They're about $75-$100 but I think they are worth well beyond that. If you're on a budget, the CX300s are great as well! The Bose QC15 are, no matter what people say, the epitome of great sound engineering. The noise canceling feature is literally perfect, and the sound quality shows why Bose remains the king of audio. Though pricey ($300-$350), these headphones are amazing if you've got the money to spare and you are often in loud environments. The Sennheiser PXC450 is another pair of noise canceling over-ear headphones that are very similar to the QC15. The PXC450 however has superior sound quality, in my opinion. While Bose is amazing, I believe sennheiser achieves the perfect balance whereas Bose pushes the treble and bass slightly. Bose is definitely king in the noise canceling department, but sennheiser wins for pure sound quality. If you simply want a great flat frequency response and don't care too much for noise canceling , the PXC450 are the best choice for their price range ($350). The Bose OE2 (on ear) is another great pair of headphones for those that don't care about noise canceling. One word of warning is that on ear headphones leak sound tremendously, so use cautiously if you're worried about disturbing people around you. Other than the sound leakage issue, these headphones are brilliant! The bass is not forced at all and the mids and highs are great! For $150-$175, these are definitely a great investment. Other respected brands are Audio Technica (I personally am trying to find and test out the M50s to see if they're worth buying), Shure, B&W, AKG, and Grado. One last thing... STAY AWAY FROM BEATS. PLEASE. If you are a true music lover, you will understand that Beats, while not HORRIBLE, are ridiculously overpriced for their level of sound quality. They look cool, yes yes I know. But their sound quality is not even on par with a $100 pair of headphones (Sennheiser HD280 Pro) and they aren't even as durable. Beats are the way to go if you're rich and care about fashion and looking cool. Otherwise, stick with Sennheiser or Bose in my opinion. Hope you guys learned a thing or two about headphones and maybe even get one of the ones I endorsed!
