"When was the last time you went to a dance performance that warranted a reaction? A deep, visceral reaction. Not a contrived clapping, but a dirge of emotional effusion? Dance is intrinsically a form of theatre. It must make me want to rise from my seat and ravish your body because it released a primal urge so long hidden in the primordial ooze of my guts that I momentarily forgot my place and status in the world. This is what dance must do. This is what dance must incite.
