Renaissance Faire HCs for the Pedro Bois

Frankie Morales: This man works in the petting zoo area for younger children, don’t tell the animals but his favorites are the donkeys that the kiddos can take rides on, they are just too sweet and he gives them extra treats after long days. He nemesis is Dieter cause that man is a menace in his opinion, the baby goats are not playthings for a has-been!

Din Djarin: A tourney knight who is there for the salary that comes with being part of one of the headlining events of the whole faire. He is uncomfortable about the giggling fans who seem like tweens to him, but he is nice and polite to them like a older brother. Also has the cutest mascot in his son Grogu who always cheers his papa on, sometime Din will get around to painting his silver armor probably green after Grogu’s favorite color.

Ezra: He runs one of those crystal and oddities shops, you can visit every single weekend of the faire and he always has new things on display and for sale. His daughter Cee helps him out most weekends, her nose is always a book during breaks. There are rumors about how he sources his stuff and none of the stories match and each one is more outrageous.

As the hum of hyperspace and the excessively cheerful beeping of that droid filled the cock pit, Din allowed himself a moment of observation.

It wasn’t hard to do, he had learned years ago that the helmet he had chosen to wear gave him certain advantages in many interactions. The lack of human features could be used to intimidate those who were weak-willed. The blankness allowed others to project their own ideas and assumptions onto him. While other times, like right now, it allowed him to observe without fully giving him away.

You were an odd one to be sure.

Fett had called you Mir'shebika, and the nickname fit. Din had seen how quick and sharp your tongue could be, and yet… of course, that wasn’t the full scope of your person. Fuck, he couldn’t really remember the last time he had someone apologize to him and with no pleas for forgiveness just… the sincere acknowledgment that they had wronged him even though they hadn’t meant to.

There also weren’t many people who were to be able to see behind his visor, to make him feel like they were actually looking at him. He could count those people on one hand, yet here you were sometimes doing exactly that. Your gaze touched a piece of his soul that was bare and bleeding under his beskar and it scared the fucking shit out of him even though he knew it wasn’t your fault. But he knew… couldn’t help but know you already knew about some of the most messed up shit he had done, the sins he had committed.

Yet you hadn’t drawn away.

Your question cut him to the core, and Din had to drawback for a moment. The pointed clarity of your question rang in his head until it ached. For that truly was the question he had already been trying to ask himself wasn’t it? The agony over having taken off his helmet only having been soothed in some part because of why he had done so. And the why was rooted in an older wound.

He knew the answer to your question immediately, though he couldn’t find any words for some time. All Din could do was hold onto your hands, those gentle yet steady hands of yours. The warmth of you had sunk into the leather of his gloves and then into his own skin, just that bit of human touch and compassion keeping him grounded.

Din was thankful that you seemed to know he needed time, time to sort out his thoughts. The quagmire of pain, guilt, and shame he was feeling.

Shame over having broken his creed.

Guilt for knowing he would do it all over again.

Pain that his tribe — his own people, his own Alor — hadn’t even cared to ask how or why he had broken the creed.

But under all that, all the layers of confused emotions burned something even hotter. The answer to your question and perhaps it also held some key in answering so many of his own.

A/N: Hi! Welcome back after almost a year lmao. Also, as I’ve been writing this fic again, I've realized that I have coded this particular reader-insert as a millennial and thus it is implied she is between her late 20s or well into her 30s, I will not ever be stating an age for reader, but please be aware that coding does exist within this work. Thank you!

In another life, your other life, you would have thought it impossible to be where you were.

Yet, here you were. Sitting at a table in a rather cozy sort of breakfast nook with none other than Greef Karga and Din Djarin.

Of course, the place was Karga’s, but seeing as the show hadn’t ever shown where he lived? Well, you hadn’t really thought about the house existing much less what it looked like. The walls had been carved into the volcanic rock that much of Nevarro was built on and in.

The dark stone had been treated in such a way that it was rather smooth to the touch, the texture under your hands not unlike a nice concrete, the shape of the stone seating oddly comfortable since it had been carved in an ergonomic fashion well suited for, at least, human use.

The one odd thing though? Unlike concrete on Earth that might be found in a garage, or basement? It wasn’t cool to the touch as you had originally expected, instead, it radiated a gentle warmth that could only be from the very crust of this young volcanic planet.
