Emil: You cannot fault yourself for that. What happened to your mother was not your fault, the same way it is not your fault that you are or not like him. You are your own person, not your mother.
They gently reached for Flynn's cheek, catching a tear with his fingers, sad purple eyes on him.
Emil: You are Flynn, the irritating teen who has bonded to a feral, angry dragon, with an excruciating sense of humor. Flynn: I may have to blame my dad for that humor, it’s clearly his.. -he chuckles a bit, looking at Emil again.- You said you used to be a scholar and a teacher, did you teach something specific? Like teachers here have their own specialties, like history, math, science, and such? Or was that different from where you were teaching?
He had so many questions for Emil really, but as this was something that he had realized was close to his heart, and something he enjoyed, he figured it was the safest thing to ask him about. Whatever happened to send them down the path of a murderous dragon, he would wait until Emil told him of his own free will. But he would like to know the dragon he once used to be.
Flynn: And you're free to tell the irritating teenager to stop asking silly questions.
He smiles, the contours of a large temple slowly forming in front of them as they walk, both him and Emil letting their eyes fall on the temple.
Emil: I was a teacher, I taught a bit of all. There was no teacher where we... I lived... So, as we were sch... I was a scholar, I was asked to teach the children in town. Human children -they explained- I taught what is basically common knowledge. Natural Sciences, local history, math, writing, and reading and...
They slowed down as they got closer to the temple, their eyes on it.
Emil: Theology, -they look at Flynn- it's your sense of humor, it's not bad
Flynn: Maybe you can help me with math, let's just say it is not my strong suit.. I mean, if you wanted too of course.-he sighed.- Another thing I have inherited from my mom apparently. Lack of Math skills! I could have inherited Uncle Hayden's math skills, but nooooooo!
He noticed them looking at the temple, he also noticed him saying “we” several times before correcting it too I, which led him to think that of course there had been someone, their co-parent to the eggs perhaps.
Flynn: There might be some people there, we can always skip it if you don't want to, and just keep on walking? The temple I mean.
His mind was looking for other things to talk about, things that would just be easy for both.
