Eddie LOVES being a dad, when has he ever indicated he wouldn’t want to do it again? That’s a serious question, what do you think this sentiment originates from?

My current speculation on where the hell did that come from is: the fact that he says "I love this one" to Buck saying he loves kids, the fact that Eddie reenlisted and admits he did that to run away, when all things considered, the military does have amazing healthcare and Chris needed that and it's not like Eddie was vacationing in a beach somewhere, and people's personal feelings about how having a kid fresh out of highschool affects someone's life leading them to decide that Chris ruined Eddie's life because it's how they would feel if they had a kid at 19. But I don't know. I think the show makes it very clear that Eddie loves being a father and he adores Chris. And considering character construction, Eddie was written with 2 archetypes in mind: single father and widower, so imagining Eddie not loving being a father is very weird to me, because it is who he was written to be.
