Kars will often take naps. These spanning from a few hours to a few days. He put a great importance in sleep, due to believing it to ultimately assist in the development of his own thought process. This will, however, sometimes give trouble, given when he sleeps he feels it is far more addictive than any other. 

As he may describe it--a lucid state where the longer it is, the more thoughts and ideas flood in for the waking hours to execute--making him more apt to go days without waking up. Then once he wakes, writing everything down then producing what he could from the result.

This was far more of a problem when he was younger, although at times will draw him into a zone of his own mind which takes quite a time to snap out of when alone.
