Trinity Santos starting her shift at the pitt, a human focused hospital which allows pokemon to assist except for in the ED where critical patients are treated. The guidelines are strict as to minimize chaos and potential distractions when treating patients, no one wants to lose a life because someone brought their Skitty to work. Most residents have complained at some point about not being able to have their partner pokemon with them to assist, but it's a generally understood rule (though it breaks Princess' heart to remind her Psyduck that it cannot come help no matter how badly it wants to). She's never had a partner pokemon and doesn't aim to change that! Well... okay that's not entirely true. As a kid she had a "partner" pokemon in the sense that she would play with a wild Bunnelby. It caused a ton of problems but was easily her best friend for a while. However during a bad time in her life she ended up chasing it away to isolate herself and it never came back. So no, Trinity does NOT have partner pokemon nor does she want to have one. If there is a pokemon in the ED she will let the attendings and security know so it can be returned to its owner or the outdoors. The strict no pokemon policy is not just a suggestion it is for patient safety. However all throughout the day she keeps seeing little footprints in the halls. She tries to point them out but she is assured that security will handle it. Despite this she continues finding signs of the 'mon all over the ED, getting into equipment, being spotted by patients, and even stealing from the lockers. Sometimes it almost seems like this pokemon is trying to help, the equipment which is messed with magically appearing exactly where its needed and certain floor messes being cleaned by no one. By the end of her shift Trinity has followed a trail of footprints into an abandoned floor of the hospital. During her sneaking she hears rattling coming from an open room and discovers a collection of stolen items similar to what went missing. Running water has her search in the bathroom where she finds a Wooper trying to warm itself with shower water. It's completely harmless but super spooked by Trinity's presence and tries (and fails) to hide. Upon looking through the Wooper's nest its clear this was someone's partner pokemon, a simple nametag and picture connecting it to a guy named Whitaker. Trinity originally plans on leaving Wooper but after earlier witnessing security manhandle other pokemon she finds herself taking pity on the 'mon and opts to bring it home with her. And such begins her new quest to find the mysterious Whitaker and bring him back his overly anxious Wooper- preferably before it gets her fired because the damn thing keeps sneaking its way to work with her. If Trinity ends up collecting her own team of pokemon (and inadvertently inspiring other residents and nurses to do the same) that's neither here nor there...
