For researching purposes and I'm terrible at researching, what's sort of the history between America and Canada starting from the Revolutionary War (since I believe Canada sort of stated their neutrality (but like lowkey sided with england)) until a war where both countries were allies. (this is like such a specific question but I wanna get the history right hhhh)

There was also the war of 1812, that happened before the Fenian raids, but I’m sure people know about that quite a bit.

What??? What happened??????

Oh my god okay so if you really want to know I’ll tell you at the risk of sounding like a total loser

But I’m also putting it under a cut to give myself some semblance of saving face :)))

Okay so if any of you have been following some of my tag rants on this blog and my personal blog, I kind of have this dumb crush on one of my other trainees. The thing is that I can’t tell if he returns my feelings at all, or if he’s just being a nice guy. Well last night, all four of us trainees were going to go out to dinner like we always do, but one didn’t feel good so she went back, and the other said he already had food back at our dorms. That left just me and my crush. We went out to dinner together, and then we’re walking back and he suggests that we go for a walk. So we do. We walked around the city until well after midnight, and even when we started heading back, we took the long way. When we got back to the block our dorm was on, he kept going, and we circled the block probably three or four times before finally going back to the dorm. While we were walking, we talked about so much and shared a lot of stories. I found out he’s a writer just like me, and we talked about our original novels and OCs and stuff. When we did go back to the dorm, he was hesitating in the hallway and I was sure he was going to kiss me. He didn’t, but he said that night was ‘fun and we should do it again’. I’m leaving for my school the following morning, so he was basically saying he wanted to get together with me even after we moved to our schools. He also said, while we were walking, that any time he’s going to go out exploring the country on the weekends, that he’ll let me know so I can go with him, and vice versa.

So yeah, I’m super giddy and happy and I’m actually kind of glad he didn’t kiss me because that might’ve felt like a goodbye where instead he made it feel like an ‘until next time’.
