its always been evident in the previous episodes that even though niran seemed to be grumpy and annoyed around pete who yaps a lot, niran was already protective of pete. and that sense of protectiveness that he has for pete was only deepened by the soul binding ritual.
the way niran had reassured pete that they will get through the ritual of sealing the qi rong was so gentle and pure that i dont even think its the doing of the soul binding ritual. it was niran's truest feelings in that moment and pete certainly felt that too. he trusts niran with all his life.
i feel like sobbing.
SOUL MATE / ใฝใฆใซใกใคใ (2026)
Pete looking at Niran with those boba eyes and Niran trying his hardest to be nonchalant about itโฆ
The man did not even hesitate ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
i knew sealing the demon meant losing the life force it devoured, but i was expecting that to be the big conflict between niran and pete that they had to overcome, maybe causing pete to lose control of the demon or something like that
you could not have convinced me that after everything they went through and all that's at stake, niran would release the demon just to stop pete from hurting, the world and himself literally be damned
and maybe niran had already made that decision before they began, but that's unlikely
rat krist (i cannot remember his name) asked what it would cost to free the demon and the answer was niran seeing pete with tears in his eyes and knowing he helped cause them
Was thinking of this scene again and finally went to check and love the detail where the demon didn't replicate Niran's necklace.
Can't wait to find out what the other three's gonna respond.

The lesson of avatar was never โkilling bad people makes you just as bad as themโ it was โyou cannot be letting fascists dictate what counts as a win or lossโ guys like come on itโs been 20 years
Katara doesnโt forgive Yon Rha and hug him and dry him off and walk him home she leaves him scared and sniveling and crying in the mud but she leaves him alive because she realized in that moment that she was only doing this because she felt like she had to. She hates this man, therefore she should want to kill him, right? The narrative isnโt saying wow Katara killing a mass murdering fascist dickwad is just as bad as said dickwad killing an innocent wife and mother during a raid on her home, itโs saying wow isnโt it fucked up that this little girl has been forced to carry this deep seated anger in her for most of her life to the point where the only outlet she believes she has for it is killing a man in cold blood? And likeโฆ yeah! That is pretty fucked!
And you know what ELSE is pretty fucked? That a 12 year old survivor of a genocide be told, over and over again that in order to bring balance and peace to the world he needs to go against the central tenants of his culture. Yeah, there didnt seem to be any other way than killing Ozai to stop the war but by constantly telling this kid that lethal violence, the same method used against his people by the fire nation, is the only path forward was indeed, very fucked!
... okay, I'm done.
