if  we,  as a fandom,   all agree that  other superheroes  from  dc or  marvel   are  canon  in  the  ua universe,   it’s  safe for me to say that   dave  is  a  full - blown  minutemen  stan  and  had a poster of  captain metropolis on his  wall growing up.    he’s  also a  big fan  of silk spectre.

regarding my portrayal of henry sutton: henry very much has his princely qualities about him as he displays in the show, but he also has a deep rooted anger and emotional problem due to the repeated trauma of losing multiple family members, and in his survival arc, friends and loved ones. he tends to act out spontaneously and irrationally on what he's feeling: e.g. when he killed gavin, and also held the captured saviors at gun point! my point is: henry is a good person he just has issues, he isn't a one dimensional princely boy who recovered from losing ben. he'll never recover from losing ben the way he did. but he does try to be LIKE his brother, and is and does have princely qualities that balance out the rage.

JANET. was the first non white flower to be pulled into project eden. but instead of volunteering like many of the others , she was forced into the program. when the scare of communism heightened and swept through her small town in washington state ; many chinese immigrants and chinese - american borns were thrown into the scare. blaming them and suspecting them as communist spies. it caused many of chinese heritage to move but those that didn't get out in time were rounded up.

janet , her parents , and siblings were in the midst of picking up their lives and escaping when the mob found them ; separating janet and her family forever. janet was transferred to the garden of eden and made to practically erase her chinese culture and conform to the white picket fence american dream. as well as extensive training as a spy. the only thing they did not erase from her was her native tongue ; only to be used for the spy network.

send 👫 for some headcanons i have about our muse's relationship.

while wesley (almost) had to beg for a second child ... having emmy healed a lot of trauma for the two of them as parents. things they still haven't completely worked through. but i don't think they will ever recover a hundred percent from everything that happened during jack's pregnancy. wesley loves that they got to have a second chance, and he's (not so secretly) dreaming of a third child - they just don't talk about it yet, even though they both know he always has a bit of baby fever.

the in case of emergencies trust fund ... wesley has a giant trust fund. that isn't a secret to anyone, but that doesn't mean the lopez evers' live a particularly lavish life. even when working most pro bono cases, wesley didn't use his trust fund unless he truly had to. he early on told angela all about it, including the exact amount on there. they both agree that the trust fund is for emergencies - and sometimes a little luxury for mama - only. it's important to wesley that the children doesn't grow up unaware of their privilege. that they won't be blind to the world around them. angela shares that point of view.

jack's list of best friends ... if you ask jack who his best friend is, the answer may vary. but the answer is usually tamara colins. he adores his favorite babysitter - and he will be upset if an alternate babysitter comes over. which sometimes results in wesley working from home that day instead. he struggles to say no to the babies. but other times, jack's best friends include: his uncle timothy + his mami. jack is a mommy's boy through and through, while emmy is more clingy towards wesley.

wesley and angela cannot cook ... nor do they very often try. they spend a good chunk of their food budget on takeaway - though they do aim for healthier options of takeaway. sometimes tim or bailey will bring over food. angela makes a mean grilled cheese though, and mami's gwilled cheese is a favorite with the babies.

true crime on tv ... angela loves a good true crime, wesley pretends he doesn't. he will argue that they see plenty of crime during their work days ... but they watch it almost every night when the kids are asleep - making a competition of who solves the crime first. angela is leading the score (yes, they have a tally on a notepad)

my wife is my bestie ... wesley is an introvert. he doesn't surround himself with too many people. he loves the family he's built with angela - including their family of first responders. his second best friend is james murray - but wesley's preferred time is spent just the four of them, himself, his wife, jack + emmy. he loves to read stories and make funny stories up with them. and he loves downtime with his wife, after bedtime every night they make sure to spend at least thirty minutes - no work talk. just the two of them spending time together and nurturing their relationship - which usually includes a foot rub for angela.

jealousy jealousy ... or? ... most of the time, there's no jealousy between the two of them. if one of them are to get jealous it's most likely wesley - while angela is more on the possessive side. while generally, they are very secure in their relationship. ie. detective graham. wesley wasn't jealous in the sense that he was scared angela would do something, but he was jealous that someone else was seeing how great his wife was in a way that felt too personal (having dreams about her) but he never once doubted angela. just like angela doesn't feel like her relationship is threatened by monica's presence - she's just showing her mark on her man. that wesley is indeed taken, which he happily is. they're a team through and through.

arguments vs. disagreements ... wesley and angela rarely argue. they've been through too much, and they've been together for too long, to spend time actually arguing. but that doesn't mean they don't disagree on things. which they do. they'll often have a discussion about something, but voices never get raised, and things are never heated. it always ends with wesley kissing angela's forehead. if the kids come into the room, they put a pin in it. it's not always resumed. and they have a rule in their relationship: no one goes to bed mad. which has led to them staying up way too late to talk things through, but they prefer this to the opposite solution.

first words ... as much as tim bradford likes to insist, jack's first word wasn't tim. it was mama. so was emmy's. which wesley uses a reason for making a third.

BIO stuff that I just need to plop into a page I guess. So WOO PERSONAL HEADACANON STUFF. This is literally all just from my head don’t look for any historical Izzy facts here.

Ahem: Izzy and Merchant Ships, Mister Malcolm Row and becoming a pirate.

I originally had Izzy not really learning to sword fight until he was on a ship with Ed but I am shifting it sooner as I’m figuring out stuff a bit more in my timeline and to give more time to make his level of proficiency make sense. My Izzy started working as young as 8 or 9 (not counting thievery) at the wharf doing random jobs here and there. But in his pre-teens and teens he worked on a series of merchant ships, starting as a cabin boy at 11 it was the only way to escape the coal mines in Wigan with his father who had started bringing him to work with him at 10. He knew the life expectancy wasn’t good in that line of work and so he started to squirrel away some of his wages and to wait until he could leave home. His father found out eventually, took his savings and punished him. When Izzy still wouldn’t tell him the truth of why he was saving, his father held his hand over a candle until he was screaming. Izzy left the moment his father had fallen asleep. Izzy hid aboard a ship that was taking off early in the morning and begged to be allowed to work when he was discovered out at sea. 

The captain was an ass but some of the crew who were mostly locals took pity on him and said they’d whip him into shape for the job. Plus it would put them off schedule to turn back now and none of them wanted to throw the kid overboard. Izzy was told he had the month that this voyage would take to prove he was worth keeping around. He was on that ship until he was 16 and more or less aged out of the cabin boy position. There’s still a lot of stuff he won’t talk about that happened on that ship. He got into a massive altercation with his father during the last time he visited and told him he’d never see him again when he left that time.

Izzy joined a new crew that he could make more money with. No longer a little kid, a lot more was demanded of him on The Fritham but as he’d learned a lot about how ships worked, he was a quick study when it came to actually learning how to sail. One of the passengers who regularly hired The Fritham to transport him and his cargo was a man by the name of Malcolm Row who was a skilled sword maker. He would pay for transport on the ship 2 times a year during their three month voyages with his wares. 

Izzy was hardly a talkative young man but when one of the crew dropped one of Row’s crates, splitting it, Izzy was the one who took care rewrapping some of the swords that had spilled out so they didn’t scratch the others. Row got him talking a bit, asking him if he knew anything about swords. Which, Izzy did not. Malcolm told him he liked to keep his skills sharp at sea and that he could use a dueling partner if Izzy wanted to learn. Izzy ended up loving the lessons and took any free time he had from his duties that Malcolm would take to teach him. Naturally Malcolm had years on him and Izzy ended up covered in bruises. At the end of that voyage, Malcolm let him keep one of the sabres and a book with instructional drawings and words detailing how to perform them. Izzy hid the fact he couldn’t read, not wanting to disappoint him when he promised to continue to practice until they met again in 3 months for the next trip. 

That second trip, Malcolm could tell Izzy hadn’t been able to use the book and so he started to teach him to read along side their lessons. This continued on for several years (the exact which I will keep vague to try to match with Eds) and Malcolm had become someone Izzy really revered and his skill with a sword had gotten quite impressive under the man’s tutelage. 

A month before the next voyage that Row would be on, The Fritham was attacked by a pirate vessel after their cargo and whatever else they might do to blow off steam. Fighting broke out, heavily uneven of course. Izzy who had only ever dueled in fairly safe and proper settings, was naturally scared shitless being in a fight that was actually for his life for once. He was clearly trained though, even if he was half panicking so the men started toying with him, seeing how much he could parry and block before they could nick him. He did pretty well until he started getting tired as they kept swapping out two against one. They got their laughs, cut him up in several places before another pirate came to see what the lads were doing. A young Edward Teach found Izzy backed against the wall, getting more and more fed up. The rest of the crew were finishing up searching the ship for goods so the game was coming to an end. Izzy had grown exhausted anyways but didn’t want to just give up. Edward stepped in, rushing Izzy and pinning him to the wall with his sword pressed to his left cheek just below the outer corner of his eye with a “You learned to fight but you didn’t learn to kill, eh?”

Yadda yadda. Anyways. Izzy’s not quite sure if he was technically captured or actually offered to join the crew but it was that or die and he was equally intrigued by Edward as the other man was with him.

probably... men. she wants to be able to do whatever she wants, but especially not care about her appearance. this is of course more applicable in historical times when garments were purposefully limiting, but even now, high heels and cobblestone streets are a fucking bitch and a half! this resentment could even extend to women from other countries with more social mobility, but only when leonor is at her worst
