thoughts || hc: thinking about rosie & otto’s wedding. how they got married after they both graduated, most likely either the same year or after. it wasn’t big, but small & intimate with only a handful of friends & family there to celebrate. (also part of me wants to say that they got married at the courthouse bc fresh out of college? tight on money & it wouldn’t matter per say where they got married, just that they finally were.)

Background
Mira was born in Columbus, Ohio, to two ex spies, Patrick (Laura Sutton’s brother) and Nia, who had left the spy business when Nia got pregnant with Mira, realizing they didn’t want a life of continuous danger for their family and decided they want to provide their child with a peaceful and safe life.
The Suttons led an average, yet happy life and of course, fit in well with the civilians. They had mostly cut ties with everyone they knew from their previous life.
At the age of 13, tragedy struck when the family got into a car accident, with Mira being the sole survivor and that marked the beginning of Mira’s drastic life change.
She was sent to live with her mother’s side of the family (her mother’s sister, Alice and her family), who were working spies, in Boston. Of course, Alice and her family could not hide this from Mira and had revealed everything about the spy world and her parents’ previous life. Alice and her family were loving and tried filling in the emptiness left by her parents’ death.
To say Mira was overwhelmed was an understatement and still unable to bear the thought of losing her parents, she was bombarded with their previous secret life and was introduced to a whole new world.
It was a lot for the young girl and as a coping mechanism, she had shut down, not allowing herself to comprehend the influx of information and grasp it right.
Mira developed PTSD, but Alice quickly noticed and sought treatment for her niece.
Of course, she was enrolled into spy prep. She didn’t consider herself prepared but she was insistent to at least make the best of it given that it was her new reality.
Unfortunately, she slowly and gradually grew to hate the environment, especially when she tried fitting in and was unable to, yet she put on a brave face.
By the time she graduated, she promised herself she’d never try to fit in anywhere and would stay true to herself and only to herself.
Of course, she was told that the President of Gallagher was none other than Laura Sutton, her dad’s sister and two of her cousins were attending. All of that was an inconvenience to her because she didn’t want to be known as Sutton’s niece and didn’t want to meet more family members and uncover more of her parents’ secret past.
Personality
Mira is generally based off Kat Stratford (10 Things I Hate About You).
She’s opinionated, blunt, doesn’t care what people think of her, snarky and sarcastic and a nonconformist.
You tell her to do something, she’ll do the opposite. You give her advice, she won’t listen to it. She does whatever she damn pleases.
Given the fact she never really processed her parents’ deaths and the fact that they were ex spies, she developed the “it is what is this” and “c’est la vie” perspective to whatever comes her way. She refuses to overthink and stress over situations and immediately moves past it.
She refuses to deal with problems and refuses to let her emotions come to light. Deep down the Sutton girl has a vulnerability and kindness which she will not let out and she won’t let anyone see.
Bisexual and has refused to date after spy prep.
