The Way We Live: Head-carrying
Head-carrying is a common practice amongst African women. It not only eases the burden of carrying big loads by hand, but allows for the carrier to travel long distances without the need of a vehicle. Although head-carrying is a convenient way of carrying large loads, there are still negative longterm effects.
