I'm assuming by the types of interactions I have with you all here that if you're not familiar with Head Automatica that you're at least aware of Glassjaw, but in case not, here's the quick version: Glassjaw is an incredible band thats been around since the 90s and they're sort of hard to pin down but they're screamy/hardcore/sort of emo maybe/really artistic/and have a REALLY GREAT sense of style and branding. Head Automatica was a REALLY leftfield sideproject by Glassjaw lead singer Daryl Palumbo that was the antithesis of Glassjaw, really. It was fast, it was poppy, it was dancey, and it was wall-to-wall earworms. I will say that the Venn diagram overlap of people who loved both Glassjaw and HA are is probably relatively small, odds are if you love poppy electronic dance music, you'll dig the hell out of this one. "Beating Heart Baby"

One of the better side projects I have ever heard and proof that dudes in hardcore bands (or "post-hardcore" as it's been coined) know how to sing & dance (not just scream).

Speaking of screaming - Daryl Palumbo's vocal style has been a significant influence on me as an artist (him and another vocalist..), having listened to his primary band Glassjaw since I was a teenager (you'll be able to tell once ya hear it). He's not the only vocalist who had inspired me in terms of how I approach singing & screaming, but he is DEFINITELY one of the big ones.

..In fact, if you're into the heavier/harder/faster stuff - check out Glassjaw (they sound very different compared to this band; not so much Pop, much more Hardcore).

I hope that dude's Crohn's disease vibe heals all the time because I'd always get sick and tired of reading about that band having to cancel shows or tours because of his health concerns (hope he's doin' alright).

Although there are 2 AWESOME music videos for this song (that you can see online), I decided to post the album cover because this is how I had originally discovered this one. The music videos are a bonus (and oddly enough I don't like one more than the other - they're surprisingly both fucking incredible in my humble opinion; Excellent work).

Here's to songs that you can sing to in the car because God knows I sang this song a fuckton in my 20's.
