There is an indent on the earth, filled with water.

Something that lies within is constantly making ripples on its surface.

A closer approach revealed a headless fish swimming in that shallow puddle.

Its splashing movements are spirited, despite the glaring lack of a head.

Is it twisting its body from pain?

Or is it merely glad to be swimming in water?
