It came out of the water when we were handling some minor S-class’s, cannon fodder really, and it just...came right out of the water and after us. I’ve never seen something so big move so fast on land. The way it just sprouted legs out of its whale-shaped body and charges...”The HK shuddered. 

“Im just glad we had the detpacks with us for closing up those tunnels. We didn’t mess around with it, we just waited till it roared and shoved twenty pounds of plastic explosive down its throat.”

Do you have a process for your writing? How do you best, 'get in the zone'

When I’m writing, I really like to process the scene, live in the moment of it. I take a moment to go over the senses of my character, then decide on what is relevant to the moment to comment on, which generally is tied to what I feel will be affecting their thoughts, feelings or reactions the most and move from there. I usually have an ultimate plan in mind for where I’d like something to go, but in reality, the best scenes I’ve written have generally blindsided me where a character reacted to take it into an entirely different direction. The most important thing in writing, in my opinion, is to stay true to your character and let them guide the story, rather than trying to change them to suit it.

"Happy Valentine's day," Oscar handed her a few chocolates that were designed to look like flowers held together in a fake boutique. "I thought you would enjoy them."

Cerulean accepts them with a warm smile, holding the ‘bouquet’ carefully before she hugs her friend. “Oscar, they’re lovely...thank you!” She smiles, and then grabs him her sweets basket that, too, looks like fresh-picked fruits and flowers along with a few, real, candy apples. “Happy Heart day!”
