AU where Marinette has a pair of omni-present headphones and is just listening to music most of the time. Nino gave them to her a few years ago and she got hooked. She's still sweet and anxious and people-pleasing, but music seems to calm her down. Literally the only time she doesn't have them on is during lectures. She and Nino will regularly sit on a bench together listening to music and just Vibe. It carries over into Ladybug too- the headphones never fall off because magic.

Chat: You seem kinda nervous. Are you sure about this?

Ladybug, wearing red spotted headphones with music turned all the way up: OH YEAH, TOTALLY! ACTUALLY, NO, BUT I'M FINE! THE TRICK IS TO PLAY YOUR MUSIC LOUDER THAN YOUR SELF-DOUBT!

Lol, the first pic started as a doodle while I was listening to the Eighth Doctor's Doctor Who Audios then I decided to draw some album covers as posters in the background and got Really Into It, as you can probably tell XD

Also includes an Obligatory Ladybug Redesign!

This one was inspired by Marinette's actual sense of fashion and the clothes she enjoys wearing-- long sleeved jackets with the cuffs hemmed up and leggings/skinny jeans.

That, and actual real life Ladybug anatomy, with their wings being the only red and spotted part of their body, and the rest being black, with a few more bits of color thrown in for pizaz.

And, of course, no impossible blue hair and eyes!

In the Headphonette AU, Marinette might not have found out about Lila until later than in canon because she came in with that look that says, "I found a new song and it SLAPS" and she literally just blew past Lila and Adrien (and all the chatter about what Lila had apparently done and seen) without noticing and Alya got to her in the classroom.

Alya: You won't believe this. Lila gave me an interview!

Marinette, who was listening to "If Your Lips Are Moving": (jolts out of music trance mode) Wait who?

Alya: Oh, it's one of THOSE days, huh. She's the new girl. And Ladybug's best friend.

Marinette: ...What.

Alya: All of it. I once a heard her listening to "So This is Love" and "Bring Me To Life" in the same hour.

Luka and Marinette in the Headphonette AU are just on the same wavelength. So is Nino. Marinette takes off her headphones when she's listening to Kitty Section or Luka specifically.

Alya once walked on him playing her a song on the deck, saw Marinette wasn't wearing her headphones, and internally LOST HER MIND.

People do, of course, notice that Ladybug always seems to wear headphones. Thanks to magic, none of Marinette's friends make the connection, but it quickly becomes a meme that Ladybug is a hardcore music addict.

Hey does anyone have any objections to me making more "Marinette but with constant headphones AU" content? Because if no one stops me, I absolutely will.
