Greetings, foxes, wolves, predator animals alike! I know you’ve probably all missed me, but your hare is back and better than ever! (I had to take it easy after I pulled a muscle working!! OTL)
Just because I’ve been taking a few days to relax doesn’t mean I haven’t been on the look out. Mysteries and horrific developments wait for no one!!! You hear!?! It just so happens that while I was getting some snacks from the convenience store (Doritos, duh! You guys know me! ;3c) I happened upon the most recent case which I, of course, began deep diving into. Let’s go down the rabbit hole, shall we, my carnivores?
Inez Apolline, age 14, current whereabouts unknown.
Now, where to begin… For starters, you all know by now that I don’t touch on too many missing persons cases. If I updated this blog with every single one coming out of this town, I’d never ever sleep! (I barely do anyways, but that’s beside the point!!) However, this one particularly intrigued me.
Though journalists usually try to give objective facts, I can’t help but let my feelings cloud my judgement a bit here. Plus! You guys are here for my takes on things, right? So it’s okay if I let a little bias show, hm? ;)c
A lot of people have been going missing lately. But usually it’s adults/older teenagers. And while you all know my theories, something about this particular poster made my stomach flip a little. Inez is very young, probably the youngest I’ve seen that’s gone missing, and the more I fell down this rabbit hole, the more I realized there is something bigger at play. There has to be!
For starters, Inez’s family were not the ones who taped these photos up. When I called the phone number at the bottom to hopefully offer any help I could, I was surprised to find I was talking to a pastor from the local community’s church. I am not a religious man, unless you count my devotion to the supernatural to be on par with praying to a god, so you bet your asses I was nervous! Apparently, carnivores, it was the church community who put these posters all around town. That’s why there’s so many of them. And while very sweet, it also made me wonder… wasn’t her family looking for her too?
I have a hard time smoothly transitioning to the next point here, so it will come out blunt. The Apolline family is dead. I had visited the church in hopes of interviewing some of the members. According to them, Inez and her family were beyond regular attendees. They were there during every service, Inez even more so when she could be. She attended the Christian private school nearby. Inez Apolline is apparently a soft tempered young girl, sweet and helpful, even if a bit apprehensive in certain situations.
Now, while these claims cannot be backed since the rest of the family is, well, dead, I believe it is important to note that many community members here noticed something was amiss. Many, even the pastor, had told me that they had made multiple reports to child services as they began noticing dangerous patterns within the family to no avail. According to the pastor himself, Inez had once confessed about a very disturbing happening that I will refrain from going into detail about out of respect for the missing girl. Each time child services would investigate, they would come up empty handed, which has lead to the church community becoming even more frustrated now that this crime and theorized kidnapping has taken place.
While I was not able to directly visit and take pictures of this crime scene, as it had already been cleaned up by the time I heard about this case, you all know I have my ways of finding things out! I was able to gather more information from other journalists (Fake it till you make it, you know? Sound important and they’ll listen! At least, that’s what I did ;3c) and here are the facts I know about the night of the crime:
1. The crime was committed in the evening, around dinner time, approximately between 5 and 7 pm.
2. Inez’s mother was killed first in the kitchen, her younger brothers killed second together in their shared bedroom, and her father killed last in his study.
3. There was only one sign of forced entry, a large window in the back of the house smashed in. It was facing the woods. The front door was unlocked.
4. When investigating Inez’s room, multiple things were slightly out of place. Drawers were pulled open, the closet in disarray (though he can only assume) and there were traces of bloody finger prints scattered about in these areas.
5. There was no sign of a struggle between the deceased family members. Each one of them had been taken by surprise and beaten to death with a blunt object, Mrs. Apolline the most desecrated of them all.
Many of the church members believe adamantly that Inez Apolline was kidnapped, and while I am inclined to agree, I feel there is more to this case they do not want to acknowledge.
For starters, usually these crimes are committed by people the family knows. However, it seems the only people this family truly had contact with was the church. Besides going to school, work, and services, the Apolline’s allegedly did not venture out of their home unless absolutely necessary. Though you can never be sure, I personally do not believe any of the community members I interviewed perpetrated this crime.
The front door was unlocked, and even so there was one point of forced entry in the back. If the perpetrator of this crime successfully unlocked the front door and then proceeded inside, why break the window? And since the smashed glass showed that the window was indeed broken from the outside, why not just leave that way to prevent unveiling anymore evidence about yourself?
There is a lot of evidence, at least to me, that Inez Apolline herself was involved with the crime. She would’ve been able to kill her family by surprise if she was already in the home, and let’s be honest, none of them would probably except their little girl to do this to them, explaining the lack of retaliation or struggle. This would also explain why Mrs. Apolline took the brunt of the attack, as it lines up with what I’ve heard from the church-goers.
There is something that makes me even more curious, and you clever carnivores probably know what it is already.
Why stage a break in? And would Inez be smart enough to smash the window inwards? Would she know enough about crime scenes to know forensics can tell which way a window is smashed?
Before I continue, I want to be clear that the most of this post is all personal theories supported by what I know about this town so far.
I don’t believe Inez Apolline did this alone. Killing her family, perhaps, but getting away without a trace? This is the part that baffles me. Based on everything I know about this case and beyond, here is how I believe things went down:
Inez killed her mother in the kitchen with a blunt object, before going upstairs and killing her brothers and then father the same way. After this, someone came to help her, perhaps coming in through the front door if Inez let them in. Inez and the accomplice went back upstairs to pack her personal belongings. Before making their getaway, either Inez or the accomplice went to the back of the home and smashed the window in, staging a break in to throw authorities off their tails and then fleeing the scene together.
In my humble opinion, and I guess while technically still being a kidnapping, I believe Inez Apolline went willingly. And with how things go in this town, I doubt she will be back, or at least, we wouldn’t know.
This case has captivated me, I won’t lie, my carnivores! So I will keep you up to date with it as best as I can, as I do with all other loose ends yet to be tied up!
Be safe out there! I don’t want to be writing about your body being discovered next ;)c
(Okay maybe I do but I feel like it’d be rude to say that without the safety of these parentheses!! ><)
Okay okay! Signing off!
