#2nd Journal "The Journal of Scenes"
Held in a very nice place called Chinook bar and resto, #2nd Journal presented by Loud For Goodness Record and Glasslike - Hearing Goodness event division with the performer from many young and talented bands and carrying an intimate friendship with the next big things yet outstanding talent from YK, fortunately this event went so well.
Lazy Room and Answer Sheet from YK are doing their Java Tour after their splendid debut album "Native Narrative" (Lazy Room) and "Istas Promenade" (Answer Sheet). It's wonderful to have them filled our last event, after a very hard work to bring a YK's folks to town before a pre-Japan tour from Brilliant at Breakfast had been cancelled due to the tight schedule.
A great start came from a dynamic and amusing post-rock/shoegaze band from our own My Violaine Morning, lead out both the heavy distortion and clean guitar, astonishing as usual. A second talent are Sparkle Afternoon, carrying the dreamy shoegaze and post rock nearly nuance the previous band, quite long awaiting after their long pause to watch them live. The next performer are A.F.F.E.N, a bloody young and dangerous young fellows mid-high alternative band from our own town, playing their newest material songs and surely brought the promising of their next album. The next talent are supposed to be UNII Escargot Vide from Japan. but unfortunately it had to be cancelled due to the complicated bureaucracy of the gig permission. But with the kindness from a sweet and nice japanese girl, she take the opportunity to apologize and greet the audience with playing her audio song and showing the great visual art by Seba, a visual artist from France.
Finally, the main performance from YK, Answer Sheet and Lazy Room takes place the stage. So many to mention about how great they performing their songs, especially when it comes to showing an intimate atmosphere. Answer Sheet doing well-multitasking skill by playing ukulele and the others instruments, a sweet combination from the sounds of piano, twinkling and digital low tempo, made us realized a minimalist set can brought a nice and easy listening songs.
Lazy room with their balanced floating shoegaze, surround by the minimalist yet spacious sounds playing their songs from "Native Narrative" album. Had been watched their gig at YK on the last 2011, this band give us a good first impression about their talent. Such a great pleasure to have the opportunity to bring them here and showing to our local scenes how promising their work all this time.
The gig went so wonderful, those young fellow successfully take our heart out with their great performance, with added enthusiasm for the local audience.
