It was hard to not stare. It was even harder to stop himself from running full force toward echoing sound of his voice. It was unmistakable.

Random passerby were ran by, and their annoyed remarks fell on deaf ears and as he round the corner, the source came into view.

"Rengoku!"

"Hey, uh, can I ask you something."

Wow, this guy is really bright. Unnaturally so.

"Did you see a ring around here? Silver, on a fancy chain? I need to find it."

He sets his friend down. Patting him on the back, a little less intensely after noticing his reaction to being squeezed.

"Sorry, my friend, I did not realize you had lasting injuries as well."

"You will get used to it," She says matter-of-factly. He wouldn't be the first to question why a child was out here on her own, and he won't be the last, that's for sure.

"If you stay here in the woods, though, you will become its prey." The Mistwood wasn't safe for a lot of people. It certainly was not safe for those who had only recently arrived.

This man is....big!

Tall, bright! He had huge eyes, too. Everything about him was colorful. Suzaku was a little struck by it.

"Hey! You're wearing a haori? Are you one of those types who wear old-fashioned clothing all the time?"

His tone carries without regard for the people around them, civilians who barely lift their heads in response to the shouted title. They didn't matter to him. Nothing mattered to him except seeing if the man ahead of him was real and solid.

"Is it you? Is this truly some strange afterlife? Have we ended up in the same place?"

There is the quickening approach of his footsteps, though he lacks the killing intent that would signal an attack.

"Turn and face me!"
