"Hey, uh, can I ask you something."
Wow, this guy is really bright. Unnaturally so.
"Did you see a ring around here? Silver, on a fancy chain? I need to find it."

"No! I could never be so flashy as you in that regard! Haha! I got to retire after taking out two upper ranks alongside talented young swordsmen you know so well."
He sets his friend down. Patting him on the back, a little less intensely after noticing his reaction to being squeezed.
"Sorry, my friend, I did not realize you had lasting injuries as well."

"You will get used to it," She says matter-of-factly. He wouldn't be the first to question why a child was out here on her own, and he won't be the last, that's for sure.
"If you stay here in the woods, though, you will become its prey." The Mistwood wasn't safe for a lot of people. It certainly was not safe for those who had only recently arrived.
The tiny, blue-haired child stares up at the loud, owl-eyed adult. Her face makes a rather sour expression.
"Richeh doesn't need to be shouted at." She grumbles - hopefully audibly enough for the adult to hear.

Sasuke was typically calm, cool and collected, but in this situation...he couldn't keep cool. He'd been taken prisoner by some unknown entities, and it filled him with rage. No...it just uncovered the rage he already had inside. It made his hands shake, and his head hurt, and perhaps he wasn't thinking as clearly as he should've been.
Still, setting these garbage cans and dumpsters on fire did give him some semblance of control and relief. Spewing the fire from his mouth, it released a large amount of his chakra. It would drain him quickly if he wasn't keeping track.
“Yeah, I’ve got somethin’ here for… Kyojuro Rengoku…?” Till drawls, holding a gift basket filled with sweets and baked goods with one hand, the other holding a note from which he was reading aloud. “Says here: ‘Thank you for being our loyal patron!’ Uh… An’ I’m also supposed t’ say ‘sorry’ ‘cause it was supposed t’ be delivered on your birthday, which was… May 10th… Wait a minute… That was… Mother’s Day…?” Till looks up for the first time to see red eyes and thick eyebrows, and for some inexplicable reason, suddenly feels nervous.
“Th-that kinda sucks… Uh, I mean…! Y’know… unless ya get along really well with your mom… And she’s… y-y’know… around an’ all… I-I don’t wanna presume or nothin’! J-just… for a lotta people here that seems…n-not quite the case, y’know…?”
“...Feel free t' tell me t' shut my mouth at any time,” Till says, mortified by the way this conversation has gone south, his tongue feeling tied up in his mouth.

@heartblazing.
"Hashira!"
His tone carries without regard for the people around them, civilians who barely lift their heads in response to the shouted title. They didn't matter to him. Nothing mattered to him except seeing if the man ahead of him was real and solid.
"Is it you? Is this truly some strange afterlife? Have we ended up in the same place?"
There is the quickening approach of his footsteps, though he lacks the killing intent that would signal an attack.
"Turn and face me!"
