Drabbles for heartofthestars~ (War, Heals, Candle )
War: Your character and mine have been assigned to the same unit in a war. They are also battle buddies.
Grasping the golden locket within her palm, chocolate hue's conveyed desolation as the lights around her dimmed. Inside this war boat, where everyones fates have been decided. To fight for their country, that was what they were meant to believe in. That was why they where all here for anyway, yes?
The blonde wanted to live not just survive. Though the fact that she was on this boat had already crossed her chances of retaining a normal life. Even if she were to survive this, the mentality cost of seeing her comrades being crucified were high, therefore she definitely would not be coming back home 'normal'.
There was only one other individual that had unconditionally agreed with Lucy's thoughts. That other person was Luce. Call it delusions if you would like, but Lucy was certainly not mad.
"Ne..." Lucy started as she grasped the locket to her chest. "Aren't you scared?"
Luce turned to face her twin, brown hue's blinking at the latter.
"Of course I'am!" Luce retorted, a nervous giggle accompanied by her words. "Sometimes... Its good to be nervous, it makes you work harder."
"I know but--" A pause. "Luce, I can't handle war, I can't -- I don't want to leave everyone back."
"Yeah, I know that feeling," Luce indicated, "But... Sometimes you have to be sure of what you're fighting for, which is your family and your friends... They were all that you adored, so be a soldier for them, protect them."
At that moment, Luce was gone. People on the deck started to holler. Gunshots rang out through the air.
A small smile by the blonde, as she opened her locket one more time. The pictures of her old comrades were there; Natsu, Gray, Erza... She'd do this for them.
Heal: My character will tend to your character’s wounds, or be at their side when they’re sick.
"You'll be okay," Lucy reassured. A soft smile appeared on her lips as she gently grasped the latters hand. "I promise."
Being at the hospital had never managed to make Lucy feel comfortable. Just the scent of drugs that had wafted through the air was enough to make her wheeze. The sight of ailing people had always made her feel deficient; as though she couldn't save them. Though she knew it wasn't her fault.
The stab that she had just witnessed had placed her mind in ruins. For one reason : she knew that it was her fault that the latter was hurt. It was her mis leadings that led to the latter's injury. Though gratefully, she didn't die. Her future self had arrived at Magnolia to warn her about what the future holds, although she had gotten injured before the message had been delivered.
A small sniffle came from under the white sheets. "...Why am I alive?"
A brow raised at the latters question. Biting her lower lip, the blonde brushed the latters locks away from her eyes.
"Because, history was wrong," Lucy started as she gave the latter a small smile. "You never died."
Candles: Our characters enjoying a moment by candlelight
"So how's the future?" Lucy inquired, hands placed on the mahogany table. The only light that had illuminated the room had been the archaic glim which rested between the blonde, and her future self.
"The past was definitely better," Her future self riposted, hue's diverting themselves away from the candle as she did so. "It kinda makes me wish that I was still back there -- living the days,"
"Hmm," Lucy nodded in agreement. Propping her elbow on the table whilst she nodded, lips parted to add a comment in her future self's reply. "Anyone would want to do that... To go back to the past that is."
"Of course, everyone wants to relieve their good memories!" Her future self chirped. A sorrowful laugh followed through as she mirrored Lucy's movements. "I really wish that I could though."
"Yeah," A small smile tugged upon the lips of her present self. "So anyway, do I manage to get a boyfriend in the future?"
