she knows she's not supposed to be here. (chrissy could only imagine the look on her mother's face or the words she'd receive to chastise her.) but the flashing sign caught her eye. actually, most places catch her eye. it's a rare experience to be found at the mall. she had lied and made up an excuse of studying with one of the other cheerleaders to get out of that wretched home and be here. and now, with a cup of ice cream half-eaten, she steps inside the vinyl chapter. eyes lit up almost immediately in wonder as she took in the sight. records all around. artists her mother would disapprove of. – oh, if only she could buy out this entire store and set up a collection! but she'll settle for simply witnessing the glory and enjoying the ambience. a spoonful of ice cream greets her mouth as she walks down an aisle, perusing without touching. she'd hate to accidentally make a mess. out of the corner of her eye she catches movement and with a turn of her head, chrissy recognizes the other in the corner. ❝ hey, i know you! – wait … do you work here? ❞ a silly thing to get excited over, but how envious she finds herself in the moment.
