‘ when i got older, i learned that darkness is a place and it’s full of monsters. ‘ / ava. hand them over.
@heartscholar | this has been here forever sorry lare
ava has far too much practice to roll their eyes at such a statement, but it’s a near thing. were this another world — another time — another boy, they would have no choice but to knock him into the fountain for something so poetic. instead their wide blue eyes look down and off to the side, like ava has seen the red - haired girl the people here are so fond of here do, mannerism borrowed and altered just enough as not to raise suspicion.
it’s almost too easy to fit into this time without the other five to muddle up every carefully laid plan, but they’ll consider this a warm - up to the real show. they weren’t raised to look gift horses in mouths, even if they are starting to seem dreadfully predictable.
“ my friends and i … we tried to fight it off as best as we could, but too many people had fallen already. ” they sit the picture of shameful repentance — misplaced, of course, because what could one little girl ever hope to do against an ever growing tide of darklings?
“ how strong you’ve all been, despite all you’ve faced … it’s incredible. ” they seem to gather themself, every inch just another too - young master with too heavy of a burden to carry. “ i’m sorry i wasn’t able to help. it shouldn't have laid on all of your shoulders. ”
