it is always a joy to host her married children again, and such is especially true for benedict and sophie. violet had grown fond of the girl quickly, and the feeling only grew in intensity the closer she got to know her. the dowager viscountess could not be more thrilled, that she is now a daughter of hers. that she is now a part of their family. she had saved her son's life in more ways than one, violet knows.

" sophie, my dear! " the terms of endearment always come so easily from the matriarch, and she opens her arms to welcome the girl into an embrace as if she was one of her very own children. cheek pressed to cheek, she beams with such warmth. " oh, i am delighted to see you! i do trust you've enjoyed your honeymoon? "

“ you are right, of course i don’t have to be. ” so why did she feel the OPPOSITE? sometimes she WONDERED, worried even, that people only cared about her for her STATUS as lady whistledown. her money. it was a silly thing, really. she trusted her loved ones with her LIFE, but still that voice in the back of her mind told her otherwise.

francesca hides a SMILE behind her hand, and shakes her head not wanting to embarrass sophie. she had INDEED seen her fall, but francesca had also seen sophie catch herself with GRACE. “ are you okay? ”

violet smiles WARMLY at sophie and nods. “ you did. ” she watches the young girl for a moment. she’d noticed over the last couple of weeks that sophie seemed DISTRACTED, often making simple mistakes. a sudden REALISATION overtook violet, a hand flying to her mouth in a bid to SUPPRESS her gasp. “ you’re in love, aren’t you? ”
