Oh christ. He had his own experiences with Nagi and, quite frankly, he wasn’t any more excited with this encounter than the last. Maybe this would be one of the times she didn’t try to harass him.

“What is it?” He sighed, not even daring to look at his niece and deciding to focus more on how he should run if needed.

It did hurt, in fact. But he was fairly used to feeling the chunk of his dorsal fin get ripped out, so he was mostly able to keep his stoic expression, but he still flinched when he reached to touch the wound. God, she did it so many times that there was a fairly clear change of color between the dark ivory of his hair and fin to the lighter gray of the scars. This was...troublesome. But, as always, it was the only way he’d learn that he wouldn’t be able to escape.

“I... I’m sorry, sweetie.” He meekly apologized, daring to not give eye contact to his wife.

What exactly was he thinking? That he could just walk out and be free? No, he was fairly pathetic and couldn’t even swim properly. This was just a reminder, even if it hurt.
