A Flame in the Darkness || Chili & Flannery
Afternoon sunlight peered in-between the glistening buildings of Nimbasa City, where Chili had just arrived via the Orange Route of the Unova subway system. He exited the terminal casually, removing his headphones and letting them hang around his neck, looking around excitedly. The cause for his trip was his upcoming participation in the Pokemon World Tournament, but since there were still a few days before his battles occurred, the boy had decided to make a pit stop in Nimbasa, hoping to delight in the many forms of entertainment it had to offer. Driftveil wasn't too far away, so Chili figured he could get away with departing from the shining city at the last minute and still make it in time to show off his skills.
Looking up at the signs that showed the directions in which Nimbasa City landmarks were located, he instantly knew where he wanted to go: the amusement park. You see, Chili thrived on adrenaline, and he knew that one of the best ways to get this sort of rush was through something like...a roller coaster. A wide grin crossed his face, and he set off quickly for the park gates.
There is sat, looming high above him in all its glory. Such steep drops, such sharp turns! Yes, it was perfect. Not as perfect, however, as something, or rather, someone else that caught his eye. "Woah.." he stated to himself, his gaze settling on a slim, red-head near the ride's entrace. He pursed his lips and ran a hand through his thick hair, wanting to approach her with an air of coolness - a virtue quite difficult to pull off as a hot-headed fire trainer. He walked over with all the poise of a Gurdurr and leaned casually against a nearby lamppost.
"Hello~," he said, attempting to make his voice sound deeper than it actually was (not that it would do much help, as Chili's voice was naturally somewhat high-pitched). "And what might your name be~?" he asked the fellow red-head, who gave him a look that was similar to one she might give to a Gastrodon. He awkwardly waited for a response, feeling himself starting to get hot and a light blushing making its way onto his cheeks. Perhaps he wasn't coming with as cool an air as he had hoped.
