The light blue parts glow orange/yellow/red when they have consumed large amounts of energy (oil, electricity, batteries, nuclear, thermal, light, the list goes on).
They have a false head, that mouth they have there is just a covering. The real head is tucked deeper in the neck for protection, but will extend outside when eating or just getting a better look around. It will open its outer mouth wider when it wants to see more clearly.
Believe it or not, they got wings. Not really for flying, but they act as arms more and to slow their descent from high jumps or cliffs. (in total, 6 appendages besides the head and tail)
They are completely sentient and understand basically all languages. It’s just whether or not they’ll say anything back.
They are HUGE. I’m talking they could bite a smart car in half. But don’t worry about them. They are a huge push over who just wants to soak up enough energy to emerge from this mid-form.
