Collab N3 @simming-love ♥
Bonus pictures under the cut.
Peyton and Heather Braxton know each other for a long time now. They met each other at a subway station and started talking. Today Heather came for a visit so they could spend a day together.
(What a beautiful sim!) ♥
But it wouldn’t be Heather if she wouldn’t find some time for art. She sat down and started scribbling the skyline of Bridgeport.
We hope you come back soon. Always remember: You will always have friends in Bridgeport.
After Heather’s wedding, Leightyn still felt like something wasn’t right. She had lightly told Heather while the two were dress shopping that she had reservations about the wedding. But she still didn’t know Heather all that well, and she wasn’t entirely sure where the concern was coming from.
“We’re just going to be gone for a couple of days. I guess you could call it a honeymoon? But neither of us were willing to spend a bunch of money right now, so it’s just going to be a short, relaxing trip with just the two of us.” Heather rambled as she grabbed one of Leightyn's suitcases, assessing whether or not it was the right size. Leightyn sat on the edge of her bed watching her, trying to push down the bad feelings that were forcing their way up.
“At first...I didn’t know why this bothered me. I still don’t really know you. Hell - I can tell that you still aren’t even sure if you like me. And I get that...I’m not the easiest person to like,” Leightyn sighed, still unsure if she should continue on, “But I finally put my finger on it I think. Not only am I starting to care about you, but I’ve begun to get to know you. And that means that I know that your family means everything to you, and that you’ve made rash decisions in the past that didn’t end well. And...I...I guess I, I just thought you might be repeating old patterns. Your own family wasn’t at your wedding Heather...just me...doesn’t that strike you as odd?”
Heather put down the suitcase she was examining and walked over to Leightyn, pulling her off the bed and grabbing her gently by the arms to look her in the eyes.
“You’re right...you don’t know. You’ve only just begun to get to know me. And with that being said, you don’t get to decide if marrying Beckham was a mistake or not,” Heather huffed, trying to stay level-headed, “You don’t know him either. And I get that your concerns are coming from a good place, but I don’t need them. Either things will work out with him or they won’t - only time will tell. Worrying isn’t going to change anything now. I appreciate that you are trying to be a friend, and I know that you'll be there for me if things go badly, but for now I'd like to drop it.”
Leightyn left soon after Heather found a suitable suitcase for her trip. There was so much more she wanted to say, that she felt like Heather refused to hear. She couldn’t just sit there and bite her tongue, so instead, she walked out of her own bedroom, out of the house, and just let her legs guide her to wherever they wanted to go.
Eventually, she made her way up to a small fishing pond that resided on the hill. Leightyn plopped herself on a bench and stared at the running water of the fountain that was before her. She wanted to shut off her mind, but she couldn’t.
Not until she heard footsteps that is.
“Mind if I join you?” A deep voice boomed. Leightyn kept her eyes fixed on the fountain. She knew she should probably be more alarmed, but it was a small town, and she figured that she was most likely going to be fine.
“Whatever,” she mumbled as she scooted over. A large, attractive man sat next to her. His brown eyes catching the light as he rounded the corner of the bench, revealing flecks of gold. Still, Leightyn kept her eyes focused on the fountain.
The man cleared his throat, “So, who are you? I pretty much know everyone around here - and I would definitely remember if I had met you,”
Leightyn said nothing.
“Ouch - rejection...not something I’m very familiar with,” The man lightly laughed, “Well, I’m Ethan. And if you’re ever looking for me, you can find me right there,” Ethan said as his arm rose and he pointed a finger at a large home that sat at the peak of the hill.
This grabbed Leightyn’s interest. She had wondered why someone with money would choose to settle here. Why they would build a monstrous home in such a desolate place. But still, she said nothing - she was all too familiar with guys like Ethan, and she knew exactly how to play their game, and that was precisely what she planned to do to keep her mind occupied with anything but Heather’s marriage.
Shortly after the two ladies agreed to become roommates, Heather reluctantly gave Leightyn a set of keys, and was forced to leave her alone at the house. College orientation was that day, and she couldn’t miss it. When she arrived back home, a large moving truck was parked diagonally in the driveway, blocking her from entering the garage. Dammit Leightyn.
Inside the house, Leightyn heard a car door outside and excitedly scurried to the front door. The moving truck had purposefully been parked poorly so that Heather would be forced to enter the house through that specific door. She was excited to show Heather what she had done.
When Heather walked through the door, her entire body tensed up. Leightyn squeezed in behind her, with a small smile on her face.
“Don’t you just love it?!” Leighyn chirped, gesturing to the living room. Heather’s mind raced. She wasn’t sure what to think. This crazy woman had just moved in a mere 4 hours ago, and had already managed to redecorate...without permission. But, a part of Heather was thankful as now she didn’t have to pay to furnish the house herself.
Heather let out a large sigh as the corners of her mouth pulled up ever so slightly into what almost resembled a smile.
“I don’t hate it,” She replied, still looking around, “But orange couches...eh...that’ll take some getting used to,”
Leightyn laughed, “You know you love it. I might be hard to like, but my style isn’t,”
Heather rolled her eyes before saying, “I can live with it...and, uh...thank you. I’m sure it was a lot of work. But before this goes any further, I think we need to lay down some ground rules...”
@simming-love & I finally have things (mostly) ready for our RP. To see more, “keep reading”! :D
“Hey! You! Stop!” Leightyn screamed as she clenched her fist around a small piece of now crumpled paper and pointed her finger. Heather picked up her pace and continued walking. She didn’t know what was happening behind her, but she did know that she didn’t want to find out.
“Excuse me, I told you to stop!” Leightyn huffed as she grabbed Heather’s shoulder to spin her around. Heather’s eyes grew wide. Who the hell is this crazy woman?
“You just posted this, right?” Leightyn questioned, breathing heavily from the jaunt she had to make to catch up to Heather. She extended her hand to show the small crumpled strip of paper that had Heather’s phone number on it, “It was you that I just saw posting the flyer asking for a roommate, right?”
Heather froze. She didn’t want an auburn-haired lunatic as a roommate...but she also didn’t seem to have any other choices. When she first returned to Timber Ridge, she thought that she might be able to swing it on her own as she had the income from the horse stables and got a total steal on the house, but with her classes starting soon, money was getting tight.
“Yes...” Heather sighed, “That was me,”
“Perfect! I’ve been trying to find a place to live in this stupid little town for a week now. There are like zero options as there are a grand total of what, 10 homes here?” Leightyn whined, tucking the small strip of paper into her bra, “So, you wanna show me the house now or make me call you later? I won’t go away you know,”
Again, Heather sighed. Is she really my only option?
When the girls pulled up to Heather’s house, Leightyn was surprised. She was expecting something run-down and more college-like.
“This is...wow...what a beautiful house...” Leightyn mumbled, her mouth falling open as she awkwardly grabbed at the base of her neck, feeling stupid for assuming something so untrue.
“It was my uncle and aunt’s house, otherwise I’d never be able to afford something like this,” Heather replied, still nervous about the possibility of this girl being her roommate.
“I’ll take it!” Leightyn chirped excitedly.
“Aren’t you even going to ask how much rent is? Or well, I don’t know...introduce yourself?” Heather sassed, growing even more unenthused with the idea of having this particular woman as her roommate.
“Oh...sorry, I’m used to people automatically knowing who I am,” Leightyn stated as she reapplied lip gloss, “I’m Leightyn Perry. I’m 21, I like things fairly clean, I don’t cook, I have no pets, and rent won’t be a problem,”
Heather swallowed hard. She didn’t want Leightyn to be her roommate. She wasn’t impressed with what she’d seen or heard. But she needed a roommate if she was going to stay enrolled in her classes.
“Fine,” Heather heavily sighed, “You can move in,”
“Great!” Leightyn beamed, “I’ll call my moving company. I hope you have room for a bunch of furniture!”
Heather rolled her eyes. This can’t end well.
