Your Friend- Heathering
Track of the day // Your Friend - Heathering
It’s approaching two years since I featured Taryn Miller (AKA Your Friend) last, but she’s finally announced an album. It’s called Gumption, it’s out on 29th January via Domino, and this lead single is very Lower Dens.
L: Your Friend - “Heathering”
“Heathering” is a kaleidoscope come to auditory life. It’s touting the coolest patterns, is covering its bases by hitting all the colors, and leaves you feeling pretty damn zen. While there aren’t moments where I’m thrown off by the composition here, Your Friend writes a pretty sick unpredictable track - from the appogiatura that sounds like a hiccup at the beginning to the ambiguously blended chord progression, the four-minute-something spent on this track feels precious - like every second really meant something and overall, “Heathering” really got you somewhere you weren’t before.
You have 84,600 seconds in a day, What are you going to do with it?
My Monday settles on me quite nicely with this soothing listen to fill my day. Read more about Your Friend and the song, “Heathering”, which turns into a dream-like waterfall of sound that transcends time and place. immersedincoolmusic
