The scorching temperatures will persist across much of the eastern region today. Once again, we can expect highs reaching the 90s and even hitting the low 100s in major cities. With elevated humidity levels, this will lead to dangerously high heat indices. If you plan to venture outdoors, make sure to stay hydrated to avoid heat exhaustion or cramps. Thunderstorms are forecasted along the cold front that will sweep across the Great Lakes into the Central Plains today. The most intense storms are likely in the High Plains areas of Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming, where damaging winds, hail, and possibly a few tornadoes could occur. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of New Mexico, leading to flash flooding through tomorrow. Much of the Midwest and upper Midwest into the western Great Lakes will also experience heavy rains from today into Thursday, which may cause minor flooding issues. Meanwhile, the western U.S. will enjoy sunny and warm weather today! ☀️🌧️ #WeatherUpdate #StaySafe
