when they had gotten the job at the magazine, rebecca was pretty sure that it mostly had to do with diversity and not about actually caring about their writing. they were assigned plenty of puff piece after puff piece, clickbait articles that held no depth and it had reached a point they felt like they could write them in their sleep.
their latest assignment however had a different air about it, and they were given alarmingly little details before they were sent to a random apartment in the middle of the city. unsure if this was some terrible omega trafficking ploy and they were about to end up as a footnote in a newspaper article somewhere, a harried looking woman let them in, waving at two stiff-backed chairs in the center of the room before leaving to take a phone call. rebecca's leg bounced nervously as they waited for their guest. they fiddled with their phone, flipping from app to app. their mouth was dry as they waited, unable to help feeling like they were undergoing some kind of job interview. / @heavcnaway
